One of PB's characters, a yoshi who looks like a sunset. Considers Power Box his dad and is more easy-going than him.

He and PB tried to go after Anubis, but they lost him and returned to the HQ. However, soon after Anubis returned. Around this time he tried to help show PB that not everyone can be perfectly good, which included yoshis (in reference to Summer). Sunset was one of the YBs who went to a party hosted by Princess Peach in honor of them. Unfortunately, the party was interrupted by Metal Top, who used a speech Peach gave to awaken the Beanstar. It then raised Peach's Castle into the sky with a giant version of itself and used the Beanstar to become invincible and blast the YB out of the castle.

To defeat Metal Top, the YBs traveled to Star Haven to get the Star Rod, but found it had been shattered. This sent them on a journey to rebuild it from the shattered fragments, after which they returned to fight Metal Top. Before they did they fought the control center of the giant Metal Top, during which it tried to place a helmet on Sunset's head to control him but failed. They then reached Metal Top and used the Star Rod to engage in a wish battle, finally destroying it.

Later, as the phazon mutagen was infecting Star World, the YBs learned the water had been contaminated and evaporated into clouds that were about to rain phazon all across the planet. The YB together sent a message out to the people of Star World to stay indoors, with Sunset lending his voice to part of the broadcast. After this the nearby forest sprang to life, mutated by the phazon, so the YBs had to abandon the HQ. Sunset fled with Top in his ship, but they were attacked by mutated paratroopas. As they were attacked they got a message from Anubis to go to a large crater where he had found the source of the phazon.

The YB arrived and Anubis gave them light shields so that the rain wouldn't touch them. Sunset stayed behind in Top's Star Ship, and the other YBs (primarily Anubis) destroyed the source of phazon, Sango, the Titan of Thunder. After the phazon incidents a strange, dark mist began infecting creatures, though these infected creatures were focused more on the YB HQ. One of these attacks involved koopatrols capturing Top and bringing him to a floating castle. The YB followed and encountered a brown batamon wearing a mask they knew as Meta Top. Inside the castle they found Top and Bowser's father, Morton Koopa Sr., whom they had thought dead several months earlier.

In the ensuing fight, Meta Top's sword broke a machine in the room and everyone was teleported away. They arrived at a dark, barren wasteland with ruin all around, and Meta Top told them it was the future. They fled the open area as an army of armored koopatrols marched at them. They fled to Vanilla Dome, where the last line of defense against Morton's dark rule of the future resided, whereas most of the planet was possessed by the dark mist. Of these resisters was a future version of Sunset, now trying to take care of his old father PB who had lost his strength and spirit due to the genocide of yoshis by Morton.

They planned to sneak into Morton's castle and use his time machine to send them back in time and stop Morton before he enslaved Star World. They snuck into his castle but were attacked by his high-ranked minions. They were able to reach the time machine and make it back to the past, after which they located Morton Koopa Sr. in the present--on a meteor in the Zornell Sector. They went out there to destroy him before the future happened, learning in the process he was undead; a final assault destroyed Morton's spirit once and for all.

Later the YB went to the Pokeworld on behalf of some yoshis visiting the planet; they had a run-in with Team Rocket, who had created a clone of Danny with shadow energy. During this mission Sunset met Subsourian for the first time, and Sub, upon learning that PB and Sunset used magic, gave them some magical equipment to assist them, marking the beginning of Sub's training of Sunset.
