Barry Huang graduated from Centennial High School in 2004 and is currently a junior attending the University of Pennsylvania. Barry is a 7-year WMACSer: a camper from 1999 to 2003 and a counselor in 2004 and 2006. His counselor during all 5 years of camperhood, during which he was in groups B4 through B6 (and also Groups E and F in a new alphabetical grouping scheme tested in 2002 and abandoned after 2003) was Mok-yi Chow. Over his 5 years at camp, he became inseparable with several returning campers; this culminated in the formation of the entity F4 in 2003, composed of the four long-time campers Barry, Jeffrey Ian Chen, Daniel Chen, and Quentin Tai in Group F. His younger brother is Sean Huang. In 2006, he "adopted" the group G3, which quickly became his favorite adopted group ever and which he now fondly looks after as his little sisters, or daughters, or whatever.
During his camper years and even as a counselor, Barry was particularly proud of consistently taking an integral role, usually with fellow group member Ian Chen, in skit-planning. Skits he has been involved with over the years include:
1999 - Counselor Deathmatch, a parody of the MTV claymation series Celebrity Deathmatch.
2000 - Thursday Night Live, a parody of the NBC comedy show, Saturday Night Live. Song: Vitamin C - Graduation
2001 - A Day In the Life of WMACS. Song: Puff Daddy - I'll Be Missing You (in honor of Chris Tuan)
2002 - Space Camp: Attack of the Staff, a parody of John Lucas' Star Wars movie saga, especially focusing on the recently released Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Song: Vertical Horizon - You're a God
2003 - A Week at WMACS, a general skit parodying the counselors and other happenenings of that week. Song: Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight
2004 - The Apprentice, the 2004 counselor orientation skit and a parody of the NBC reality show, The Apprentice.
2004 - The Lord of the Keys, the 2004 counselor skit and a parody of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings movie saga, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novels.
2006 - WMACS-Men, the 2006 counselor orientation skit and a parody of the X-Men comic series.
Barry, like his former camper George Peng, is an avid drummer and performed with the group Forever Young for a number of years. He also won the superlative, Most Musical, in 2001 for playing the drums during his B6 skit, and was again nominated in [[2002]. It was probably due to the novelty of an Asian drummer.
Barry also greatly enjoyed helping to put together the WMACS Yearbook, which has since evolved into an electronic CD. He was especially involved in 2000, 2001, and 2002.
Barry's Notable Quotes, Occurrences, Nicknames, and Roles:
- Putting his legs behind his head (2002)
- The Chewbetty Roar (2002)
- Jam sessions (2003)
- So Guai (2004)
