Andrew Merrilin was the 48th Vice President of the United States, serving from 2013 to 2016. Before that, Merrilin was the Governor of the Heartlands. He ran for President in 2016, winning the Republican primaries but later controversially withdrawing from the race in the middle of the Republican Convention.

Incumbent Republican President Elizabeth Warren picked the then Heartlands Governor Merrilin as her running mate in the 2012 Presidential election, replacing Aaron Reid who had been Warren's Vice President during her first term. The Warren-Merrilin ticket won the election and Merrilin became the 48th Vice President of the United States.
Term as Vice President
Merrilin was Vice President during the second term of the Warren Administration, which included a brief period during which Merrilin was Acting President as a result of the 25th Amendment being invoked while Warren underwent surgery for breast cancer. He also personally flew into Azerbaijan at the height of the tensions between Russia and the United Stattes over the Caucasian state.
