Elections for the United States House of Representatives were held on November 6, 2012, with all of the 435 seats in the House up for election. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, with those elected to serve in the 113th United States Congress from 2013 until 2014.

Results
Democrats received 550 votes, with Republicans receiving 513 [1]. This gave control of the House to the Democratic Party after a session of Republican control, with an adjusted majority of 2.3 votes. This was an increase from the 5.7 majority enjoyed by Republicans at the previous election [2].

Aftermath
Emmett Honeycutt and David Cromartie were elected by the House Democratic caucus to the positions of Speaker of the House and House Majority Leader respectively. Daniel Pennypacker was elected by the House Republican conference to the position of House Minority Leader.
