American Tournament 27th August 2007
From Tennis
Weather permitting, we're planning an American tournament at the tennis club on Bank Holiday Monday for adult members. (We will cancel if the weather is bad.)
The rules will be the same as per the 28th May American (which was cancelled, due to poor weather):
- All adult playing members are very welcome.
- Only £3 for the afternoon -- includes tea, balls.
- Please make sure you arrive by 2.15pm, and that you can stay till 5.30pm, if necessary.
- Some sort of prize for the winner.
- Generously run by Graeme Boddy.
- Five games per set, sudden death deuces, pairs are split up after each set; men and women move in opposite directions.
- A great opportunity for existing members to meet new ones, and vice versa.
ACTION BY YOU:
We need to have some idea of the numbers who will come. If you might be interested in coming, can you reply to this email, letting me know whether:
- a. You definitely intend to come (unless the weather is appalling), or
- b. You intend to come, provided the grass is in play, or
- c. You intend to come, provided the weather is, in some way, 'fine', or
- d. You'd like to come, but other factors (which you need not describe) may or may not prevent you.
