Report on the Shaun Freeman Tournament by its principal organiser, Graeme Boddy
- Held at TDLTC in glorious weather.
- 54 entrants.
- Played as a fixed pairs / mixed doubles event, based on A-and-C and B-and-B partnerships.
- Charity: Cancer Research UK
- Tournament Winners: Sian McMillan and Lloyd Furber.
- Runners-up: Kate Harris and Freddie McGeehan.
- Semi-finalists: Max Salisbury and James Williams, Alison Peacham and Jack Freeman.

- Bev Banham, Irene McClean, Jane Baller, Julia Francis and Nicki Boddy for a great home-baked afternoon tea (and the lunchtime salads).

Shaun Freeman Memorial Tournament—Saturday 3rd July 2010—UPDATE
- 11.00 am start, finishing around 18.30.
This important new annual tournament is being held in memory of Shaun Freeman, and will raise money for CANCER RESEARCH UK. There is a magnificent CHALLENGE CUP with a fascinating history. It will be engraved with the names of the winners.
SCHEDULE 3rd JULY
- 11.00 Registration
- 11.15 All play until 16.00
- 13.20 Lunch (included in the £10 entry fee)
- 16.05 Tea
- 16.30 Semi-finals and Final
- 18.20 Presentation of trophy by Mrs Mally Freeman
CALL TO ALL MEMBERS AGED 12 AND ABOVE
We have places for 80 tennis players. We have already received over 60 entries, and it is still possible to enter this week. All entrants have an equal chance of winning.
- The tournament is open to ladies, men, juniors aged 12 and over, and midweek members. Please contact Graeme Boddy on 07713 233 710, or put your name on the entry sheet on the noticeboard in the clubhouse.
- Please sign up and make this inaugural charity event a tremendous success.

Please sign up for the Shaun Freeman tournament, by any one of three methods:
- Put your name down on the form on the notice board in the clubhouse, or
- Email Irene McClean at irene@themccleans.plus.com, or
- Phone Irene on 0208 873 7393.
- The tournament is a doubles event.
- Your partner will be decided by Graeme Boddy and the tournament committee before the event.
- The entry fee is £10 per person, which includes lunch and cost of balls.
- £4 of your fee will go to Cancer Research UK, which is the Freemans' chosen charity.
- Ideally we would like the entrants to be 40 ladies and 40 men, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
