Initial Announcement of Tournament

Weather permitting, we're planning an American tournament at the tennis club on Bank Holiday Monday for adult members. We will cancel the event if the weather is bad.

The rules will be the same as in previous years:

  • All adult playing members are very welcome.
  • Only £3 for the afternoon—includes tea, balls.
  • Please make sure you arrive by 1.45 pm—ready for a 2.00 pm start—and that you can stay until 6.00pm, if necessary.
  • Some sort of prize for the winner.
  • Generously run by Graeme Boddy.
  • Five games per set with sudden-death deuces in every game.
  • Pairs will be split up after each set. Women and those labelled 'men' will move in opposite directions.
  • A good opportunity for existing members to meet new ones, and vice versa.
  • Hopefully someone will open the bar in the afternoon.

Could people please email tdltc@hotmail.com if likely to come, to give us an idea of the numbers?
