[edit] Formation and Edge's leadership (2022)
On the February 21 episode of Raw, Edge reflected on all the WrestleMania moments in his career and then he issued an open challenge for WrestleMania 38. The following week on Raw, his challenge was accepted by KJ Styles, but Edge attacked him, turning heel for the first time since 2010. Edge debuted a new entrance theme, The Other Side by Alter Bridge, during the buildup to WrestleMania, and at the event on April 3, Edge defeated Styles following a distraction by Damian Priest. Following WrestleMania, Edge formed an alliance with Damian Priest. On the April 17 episode of Raw, Edge challenged Styles to a rematch at WrestleMania Backlash which Styles accepted.
Edge explained Priest's allegiance to him by exclaiming that despite a lengthy United States Championship reign, Priest was left off from the WrestleMania card, and admired Priest's dedication to succeed, and admitted that he was unaware of Priest's intentions to assist him at WrestleMania, but nonetheless accepted him as his pupil. Together, Edge and Priest vowed to wipe out anyone who does not fit in their "Mountain of Omnipotence".
