Background
No Escape will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on AEW's television programs. Wrestlers portray heels or faces as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
The first three match were announced to all be Elimination Chamber matches, the main event elimination chamber match is a Six-Man Tag Team Elimination Chamber match with The Resistance (Taz, Bray Wyatt, and Cactus Jack) facing of against Team wMe (Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, and Tyler Reks). Bray Wyatt returned to AEW last month at The Last Stand pay-per-view to put a warning to Paul Heyamn and the rest of the wMe superstars. On the February 18 episode of SLAM, Bray Wyatt continued his rant over Wrestlemania Entertainment telling the AEW Universe that The Resistance will rise, later that night, Randy Orton and James Storm defeated Shawn Michaels and Daniels in a tag team match, after the match Storm turned on Orton joining wMe on that same night, Kevin Nash returned to AEW to attack Triple H only to bring out Bray Wyatt, Cactus Jack and Samoa Joe came out and attacking Daniels while Nash, Storm and Michaels watched on, Taz would announced the Resistance was him, Wyatt and Jack and they would bring AEW back. On the February 25 episode of SLAM, it was announced that The Resistance would face off with Team wMe's Tyler Reks, Shawn Michaels and a Mystery partner, Wyatt interrupted Heyman, the mystery partner would be revealed when Orton came out and turned on AEW and RKOed Wyatt and would be the mystery opponent of wMe, one week later, Orton revealed why he did what he did; "To provide for his daughter."
The second Elimination Chamber match announced for the No Escape pay-per-view was for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship with AEW World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young (accompanied by Jeremy Borash) will defend the AEW World Heavyweight Championship against [Bobby Roode (AEW)|Bobby Roode]] (accompanied by Ms. Brooks), James Storm, Sterling James Keenan (accompanied by Ariel), Scott Steiner, and Abyss (accompanied by James Mitchell). On the February 25 episode of SLAM, Scott Steiner, James Storm, Bobby Roode and Sterling James Keenan were the first four announced to join Eric Young in the Elimination Chamber match for the AEW Championship. On the March 4 episode of SLAM the final participate was announced to be Abyss.
The third and final Elimination Chamber announced for the No Escape pay-per-view was for the AEW Light Heavyweight Championship with AEW Light Heavyweight Champion Petey Williams(accompanied by Scott D'Amore), CM Punk, Davey Richards (accompanied by Bobby Heenan), Bryan Danielson, Austin Aries and Christian York. The first participate was announced via the AEW Twitter to be, CM Punk. On the February 25 episode of SLAM it was announced that Bryan Danielson and Davey Richards would join Petey Williams and CM Punk in the Light Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match. On the March 4 episode of SLAM, Austin Aries and Christian York were the final two men announced to be in the Light Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber match at No Escape.
