Retaliation France is an upcoming 2024 professional wrestling event produced by the American company WIW. It will be the 19th Retaliation event and will take place on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Stade Couvert Régional in Liévin, France. The event will air via pay-per-view (PPV) and will be held for wrestlers from the promotion's Rage and ShowDown brand divisions. This will be WIW's first PPV and livestreaming event to be held in France, and the first Backlash held outside of North America. The concept of the event will be based around the backlash from SuperBrawl XVI.

Background
Retaliation is a recurring professional wrestling event that was established by the American promotion WIW in 1999. It was held annually from 1999 to 2009, but was then discontinued until it was reinstated in 2016 and has been held every year since, except in 2019. The original concept of the event was based around the backlash from IWE's flagship event, SuperBrawl. The events between 2016 and 2020 did not carry this theme; however, the 2021 event returned Retaliation to this original concept.
In late October 2023, reports emerged that WIW were discussing plans to hold the 2024 Retaliation outside of the United States and even talked about doing it somewhere in France. The following month on November 16, the company announced that the 19th Retaliation would be held in France, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Stade Couvert Régional. This subsequently marks WIW's first pay-per-view (PPV) event to be held in the country, with the event in turn titled Retaliation France, as well as the first Retaliation held outside of North America. The event will be based around the Retaliation of SuperBrawl XVI and will feature wrestlers from the Rage and ShowDown brand divisions. It will air on PPV worldwide. Additionally, the May 3 episode of ShowDown will be held at the same arena, marking the first time that the program will be broadcast from France. Tickets went on sale on January 12, 2024.
Storylines
The event will include matches that result from scripted storylines. Results are predetermined by WIW's writers on the Rage and ShowDown brands, while storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television shows, Wednesday Night Rage and Saturday Night Showdown (unless the PPV is on Saturday, ShowDown gets moved to Friday).
On Night 2 ofSuperBrawl XVI, Ryan Barnhart won the Undisputed WIW World Heavyweight Championship. On April 12, it was announced that his first challenger for the title would be determined by a tournament that would begin on that night's SmackDown. Zack Harding and Kevin Hunter won their respective Triple Threat Eliminator matches, with Hunter defeating Harding the following week in what was also a SuperBrawl XVI rematch to challenge Barnhart for the championship at Retaliation.
On Night 2 of SuperBrawl XVI, Kevin McAlmond retained the World Heavyweight Championship, while also fighting off Jeremiah Lawrence cash-in of his Money in the Bank contract, and making him fail in his cash-in. The next Wednesday night on Rage, it was announced that McAlmond would defend the World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal four-way elimination match. On the April 24 episode of Rage, Kenny Alsup and Eric Stevens defeated Grant Boynton and Justin Isaac, respectively and later in the evening Jeremiah Lawrence defeated Daniel Gonzalez and Kooper McAlmond in a triple threat match, pinning Gonzalez to advance to the title match at Retaliation.
