[edit] Background

Main article: Professional wrestling

Survivor Series will feature professional wrestling matches that involved wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds or storylines that play out on IWE's primary television programs, Raw and SmackDown. Wrestlers will portray heroes or villains as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

At Hell in a Cell, Seth Rollins defeated Kane to retain the IWE World Heavyweight Championship. The following night on Raw, eight superstars that were victorious at Hell in a Cell competed in singles matches and the winners faced each other in a Fatal 4-Way match, with the winner becoming #1 contender for the IWE World Heavyweight Championship at Survivor Series, in which Roman Reigns won. However, on November 4th, Rollins suffered multiple knee injuries at a live event in Dublin, Ireland; therefore, the match was cancelled and the title vacated, with a tournament set for Survivor Series to crown a new champion. On the November 9th episode of Raw, it was announced that the tournament would consist of sixteen superstars competing in singles matches until two superstars remain; the two superstars being the ones who compete at Survivor Series for the IWE World Heavyweight Championship. #1 contender Roman Reigns was offered the opportunity to join The Authority and by doing so, he would automatically be placed in the championship match where the winner of the tournament would face Reigns at Survivor Series; Reigns refused thus requiring him to compete in the tournament. On November 19th edition of Raw, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens and Alberto Del Rio advanced to the semifinals with victory over Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Neville and Kalisto respectively, setting up Reigns vs. Del Rio and Ambrose vs. Owens in the semifinals at the event.

[edit] Aftermath

The post-Survivor Series Raw was the lowest rated non-holiday episode since 1997 and the first time Raw averaged less than three million viewers since then. On that episode, Roman Reigns confronted The Authority and demanded a rematch against Sheamus for the IWE World Heavyweight Championship that night. Triple K refused, stating he will get his rematch for the title at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match.

On the November 26 episode of Smackdown, Dean Ambrose won a Triple Threat match against Dolph Ziggler and Tyler Breeze to become the Number 1 contender to Kevin Owens' Intercontinental Championship.
