Superclash IV was a internet professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by Attitude Era Wrestling (AEW), which took place on July 5, 2015 at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo Japan. It is the fourth event under the Superclash chronology.

Wrestle War will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on AEW's television programs. Wrestlers portray heels or faces as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.

At Wrestle War, Roman Reigns won the 60-Man Wrestle War match to win the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, a few weeks after that Paul Heyman would announce the Road to Superclash World Championship tournament, On the June 22 episode of Concussion: Road to Superclash, Montel Vontavious Porter was added to the title match making it a Triple threat match at the event. On June 29, 2015, Damien Sandow and the Intercontinental Champion Tanahashi eliminated Dolph Ziggler and Goldust in a Fatal four way elimination match with the winner facing Reigns at the event, however MVP and the Beat Down Clan attacked Sandow and Tanahashi, Paul Heyman announced that Reigns would defend the title against MVP, Tanahashi and Sandow in a Fatal four way match at the event.

In May 2015, CM Punk returned to AEW, renamed and re-branded as: Phil "CM Punk" Brooks, he began to target former AEW DOA, Taz to fight him in a match, but Taz refused. At Wrestle War, Punk defeated Bull Dempsey, managed by Taz this would lead to a match against Sterling James Keenan whom Punk defeated also, after the match Taz would accept Punk's challenges to a match at the Superclash PPV event.

On June 19, 2015 episode of Concussion: Road to Superclash, during Dean Ambrose and Goldust, Quarterfinals match in the Road to Superclash tournament, Chris Hero made his return to the company and cost Ambrose the tournament match against Goldust. It was later announced that Ambrose would face Hero at the event.

At Mayhem, Dean Ambrose defeated Jeff Hardy in a Full Metal Mayhem match of the first round match of the Road to Superclash World Title tournament after the match, Hardy blamed the AEW Universe for the loss, turning heel in the process, however he was interrupted by a GWF Superstar and former GWF Champion Eric Young, Young would challenge Hardy to a match at Superclash. On the June 8th episode of the special Concussion: Road to Superclash, Paul Heyman would officially confirm that Young would face Hardy at the event.

During an episode of Concussion: Road to Supercalsh, Conor McGregor announced an Open Challenge for One Million Dollars of McGregor's money. On the June 22, John Cena defeated Daniel Bryan and Sami Zayn in a Triple threat match to earn the right to face McGregor at the event.

Like last year, the winner of the 2015 Queen of the Ring tournament would earn the right to face off against the AEW Women's Champion for the title. At Mayhem, Candice Michelle defeated AJ Lee to win the Women's Championship. The Queen of the Ring tournament began on June 4 with the Quarterfinals, with Charlotte defeating Gail Kim, Alexa Bliss defeating Blue Pants, Paige defeating Mickie James and, Angelina Love defeating Bayley. On June 18, the Semifinal match took place with Charlotte defeating Paige and Alexa Bliss defeated the 2014 Queen of the Ring Angelina Love to advance to the final round. On June 25, Alexa Bliss defeated Charlotte to win the finals and advance to the Women's Championship match at the event. However after the match was changed to a Winner Take All Ladder match by Women's General Manager, Ronda Rousey annaouncing that Women's Champion Candice Michelle and Women's United States Champion AJ Lee will both defend the Women's and Women's United States Championship's against 2015 Queen of the Ring Alexa Bliss, Buggy Nova, Maryse and Eve Gracie

On the June 8th episode of Concussion: Road to Superclash, Paul Heyman would announce the return of the annual Money in the Bank ladder match, the first three participates announced were Alex Riley, Jimmy Jacobs and Baron Corbin. On the June 19 episode of Concussion, Samoa Joe, Neville, Chris Jericho, Adam Cole, Cesaro and Seth Rollins were announced for the match. On the June 22, 2015 it was announced that Alex Shelley, EC3, Alberto El Patron, Randy Orton, Heath Slater, Knux and Fandango were added to the match, however after being attacked by the BDC, Seth Rollins was removed from the Money in the Bank ladder match.

On the June 22 episode of Concussion: Road to Superclash, it was announced that AEW Light Heavyweight Champion Fin Balor would defend the Light Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles at the event.
