Background

After finishing recording for her Korean mini album and debut Chinese album early 2012, Ophelia devoured her time to her acting activities, filming in China with director John Woon. During this time in March she was met with the news of her musical mentor Tablo's father and Lee Jin Hwa's death. It brought a major distraction to Ophelia and was publicly down with a break down and refuses to release new music and delayed the release of her Korean mini album.

In April her company announced she has recovered but still has not agreed to publish her music materials. Soon after it was announced that she will work with famous Japanese composer Joe Hisaishi for her uo-coming Japanese release as well it being her first studio album. The pair met through label mate Dll Ini in 2010 but Hisaishi refused to work with Ophelia despite numerious requests; aying her music has not fully blossomed and there are no distinctive style. However after the release of Ophelia's first Japanese album Mellifluous Ending in February 2012 two years later her music was approved by Hisaishi and agreed to working together in the future upon her request. After the deaths of her music mentor she was reported to be lost and and asked for Hisaishi's guidance. He agreed and eventually even persuaded Ophelia to work on Studio Ghibli's Summer 2013 film Tale of the Bamboo Cutter as a composer and pianist.

In the beginning of May, it was reported in the local newspaper that during her one week rest from filming in China(which later continued with six cosecutive unretsing months period) she travelled to Tokyo, New York, Moscow and Paris to find musicians from all different backgrounds whom she encountered before her debut for her musical instrunment lessons asking them to work ont the pieces together. She was quoted saying of wanting different influences from music around different backgrounds. By then her company announced she has pulled out of filming for the Chinese film in order to concentrate on her music and her acting debut has been pushed back indefinitely.

Recording

Ophelia began working on the album in June after an all-around Europe trip to find musical inspirations. By late August 2012, she was able to confirm the album will contain at least ten new tracks and currently holds around thirty materials which will be eventually cut down. Under the influence of Joe Hisashi, Ophelia concentrated heavily on using piano as the main form of sound for the overall album.
