After being in his sunken ship for a while, a green rod with a star at the end floated down into his ship. He took it, and soon after some guys looking for the rod appeared. He fought them over the rod but was vanquished. However, the ship they used to get there was destroyed; they tried to use Pinkeye's ship, and explained that the rod was a fragment of the Star Rod. With two other fragments they lifted the ship out of the water, allowing it to sail again.
