The Mushroom Kingdom
From Yb Timeline
It is the third day of the invasion of Star World. Thanks to the valiant effort of the Star World Defensive Forces, the Metal Army has been driven away from key areas, including New Yoshioplis and Sarasaland. However, the battle still rages, neither side gaining a definite advantage over the other. It will come down to Mushroom Kingdom’s central Castle Town, the heart of the most powerful nation in Star World. Should the city continue to stand, the defense will continue with equal, if not greater vigor. And should the city fall, so shall the entire planet..

Known Locations, Cities, and Landmarks
Locations with their own Article
- None at the moment
Toad Town (Later became Toad City)
- Note: Not to be confused with the Toad City in The Dark Cloud which was just a random location of no importance that probably didn't exist but at the same time was probably one of those Mario Kart tracks and okay this went on too long.
Toad Town (also known as Mushroom Kingdom Castle Town) is the capital of The Mushroom Kingdom, near the very center of the country, and a bustling city/town mainly inhabitated by Toads. There have been several different versions of it in several games; however, the Paper Mario version is the one most often used [By User:Topmonhit] but later used parts from M&L3. It is directly south of Princess Peach's Castle, and Mario's house is accessible from here. It also has sewers which are quite disgusting. Recently, the shopping district, which was destroyed by the Metal Army's Zeong Titan, rebuilt into a mall. In the future, it will eventually evolve into Toad City and it will be abandoned by the inhabitants to live in floating cities 300 years later.
Princess Peach's Castle
Princess Peach's Castle is the castle owned by the ruler of The Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach. The castle's outside appearance has been somewhat the same throughout games, although the inside has changed quite a bit. It is often the site of attacks by the Koopa King, Bowser, and was once abducted by his own castle and brought high into the sky. Other villains have been known to attack it often. Eventually, it will be later abandoned that the Mushroom Kingdom royal family lives in a Sky City with a new castle on top of it.
Shooting Star Summit
Shooting Star Summit (which is possibly also the location Star Hill from SMRPG) is a summit to the east of Princess Peach's Castle, and is said to be the closest land location to Star Haven. Shooting Stars can often be seen here, hence the name. Merluvlee and Merlow's house can be found here, as well, and on the top of the summit is a beam that leads to Star Way, which in turn leads to Star Haven.
Goomba Village/Goomba Road
Goomba Village is a small village to the west of Toad Town; the two are connected via Goomba Road. Goomba Village has only one family (and a Toad House) living there, Goombario's family. There is also a small forest to the west, including an area a bully, Jr. Troopa, hangs out at. Goomba Road features a fortress Goomboss resides in, but it's essentially tiny and currently unoccupied.
Koopa Village/Pleasant Path
Pleasant Path is a path east of Toad Town, which can bring you to Koopa Village, a village of Koopas (and some Bob-Ombs, too). The village is the hometown of the famed explorer, Kolorado, and it's said to also be the hometown of the Koopa Bros. and also the massive Kent. C. Koopa. It's also the home of Kooper. If you pass Koopa Village and continue on Pleasant Path, you'll eventually encounter the Koopa Bros. Fortress, although it's mostly empty now but the SWDF plans to turn it into a laboratory. On a side note, Bob-Omb Battlefield is located near Pleasant Path (which makes it someone less pleasant). One of Star World's Space Colonies are based off from this location called Pleasant Colony.
Mt. Rugged
Mt. Rugged is a mountain to the east of southern Toad Town; it's accessible via a train in south Toad Town. It's notable as being one of the few places with surviving Whackas, and needs to be traveled over in order to get to Dry Dry Desert.
Dry Dry Desert/Gritzy Desert
Dry Dry Desert and Gritzy Desert, which are very likely to be a part of the same desert, is a desert to the east. It is very easy to get lost in the desert, but does have an oasis. There is also an outpost known as Dry Dry Outpost, and also ruins in the north known as Dry Dry Ruins. The Gritzy Desert portion features a Koopaseum and also an underground network of caves.
Forever Forest
Forever Forest is a very, very, very thick forest east of Toad Town. It is very easy to get lost... forever! There is, however, a forest... guy holding a beard who sometimes helps lost travelers. There are also boos living in the forest, as well as Boo's Mansion, a mansion owned by a boo princess named Bow. During the Star World Invasion, the Boos helped the SWDF by destroying the Metal Army's lumber bots and forced the robots be lost in the forest.
Gusty Gulch
Gusty Gulch has a radically different sky than Forever Forest; while Forever Forest is dark, Gusty Gulch is somewhat brighter, and dustier, too. All the boos living here are of a strange Ecru color, unlike most Boos which are white. At the top of a hill lies Tubba Blubba's castle, although he has not used it for years and instead Federation of Evil Acquaintances has often used it for their own purposes. Sneezier plans to convert the castle into an mansion for the local boos.
Shy Guy's Toybox
Shy Guy's Toybox isn't exactly in the Mushroom Kingdom, as it's unknown whether entering it leads to another dimension or whatnot. All that's known is that it appears to be inside a toybox hidden inside a building in Toad Town. The toybox includes a giant toy train which can be used to get to various stations, and all sorts of Shy Guys. General Guy apparently leads this place.
Lavalava Island
Lavalava Island is an island in the southern Mushroom Kingdom inhabited by Yoshis, Ravens, and other jungle creatures. There's a Yoshi village here, led by a chief, and deep in the jungle lives Raphael the Raven, who is like an overseer of the jungle. There is also a volcano on the island, which is difficult to get into and was once explored by Kolorado.
Flower Fields
Flower Fields is a hidden area apparently in the northwest Mushroom Kingdom, although this may have been for lack of a better location. Flower Fields is filled with various anthropomorphic flowers, and is watched over by a very old tree known as Wise Wisterwood. There is also a living sun there, which brings sunlight to all the flowers in the fields. The Metal Army once tried to convert this area into a toxic waste dump during the invasion.
Shiver Region
The Shiver region is a snowy region in northern Mushroom Kingdom. The easiest way to access it (not that easy) is a warp pipe in Toad Town sewers, which brings you to Shiver City, a city inhabited by penguins, as well as Mayor Penguin and the famous novelist, Herringway. East of that is the Crystal Palace, a palace that was built in dedication of the stars, but was later overrun by Bowser's troops. Further east is Starborn Valley, which is a small village led by Merle, some Toads and some Ninjis; they look after newborn star kids who have yet to fly up to Star Haven. It's closely connected to a temple up north, but the temple is beyond the Mushroom Kingdom border.
Hollijolli Village
A village up on a hill, Hollijolli village is in a state of constant Holiday and snow. It was attacked in the Shroob invasion and destroyed; we have yet to decide whether it was rebuilt later on.
Toadwood Forest
Toadwood Forest is a forest west of Toad Town. During the Shroob invasion, a factory used to utilize Toad Vim was built; during X-Chaos, the factory was blown up by Lord Crump.
Thwomp Volcano
Thwomp Volcano is a volcano in southeast Mushroom Kingdom. Whomp Fortress floats over the volcano (somehow).
Rogueport and Surrounding Areas
Rougeport and the surrounding area are territories of Mushroom Kingdom, and though they are not directly part of Mushroom Kingdom proper, the country still holds ownership of them. However, due to issues defending it's mainland, Mushroom Kingdom has been unable to enforce law in these areas, making these areas moshpits of illegal activities.
Rogueport
Rogueport is the center of the areas listed here, and as its name suggests, it is essentially a port for rogues. Thieves, bandits, crooks, and all manner of not-nice people can be found here, as well as two rivalry mafias, though the rivalry has died down since Frankie took over in place of Don Pianta. Things began to heat up all over again, however, when a new Bandit Mafia emerged and integrated the bandits into it. Not all folk there are nasty, however; Professor Frankly does his research there, due to the port actually being built on top of a century-old ruin of a city that was destroyed by the Shadow Queen a thousand years ago. A thousand-year door can be found in the underground section of Rogueport, which led into the Palace of Shadow, and the Shadow Queen's resting place.
Petalburg/Petal Meadows
Petal Meadows is a meadows northeast of Rogueport. It features an old castle once inhabited by a massive dragon named Hooktail, and also features a fortress called Shwonk Fortress to the east. Petalburg is a peaceful town ran by an old Koopa mayor named Kroop, although Koops has been considering running for mayor.
Boggly Woods
Boggly Woods is a black-and-white colored woods north of Rogueport. All creatures here have adapted to have pale coloring, as well. There is also a massive, very old tree known as the Great Tree, and it is inhabited by Punis and Jabbies.
Glitzville
Glitzville is a city floating on the sky. It holds the Glitz Pitz, a fighting arena that was once ran by a Clubba named Grubba. When it was revealed he was sucking the power of fighters away, his former assistant, Jolene, took his place. The very first champion was a Toad named Prince Mush (not to be confused with the moron user). Other champions include Rawk Hawk and The Great Gonzales (Mario).
Twilight Town
Twilight Town is a town west of Rogueport, and it is always twilight, or dusk, there. The townspeople are all dark and stuff. There are also some woods known as Twilight Trail which leads to Creepy Steeple, a steeple with a bell at the top. The steeple is often lived in by Doopliss, although he doesn't seem to be there very often. Twilight Town was also the site of a battle between the Shadow Army and The Yoshi Bodyguards, and was also the site of Noshum and Vivian's wedding. In the end of Unity of the Shadows, the bell in Creepy Steeple was destroyed.
Keelhaul Key
Keelhaul Key is an island with a pirate's curse on it, although the curse seems to be lifted. It was once the location of the Pirate King Cortez's wrecked ship, the Black Skull, but after he obtained his skull gem once more, he was once more able to set sail, and thus a small community of sailors began on the island. Cortez sometimes makes trips back to the island, but this seems to often result in his skull gem being stolen.
Poshley Heights
Poshley Heights is a fancy, rich town which is accessible via the Excess Express in Rogueport. The town is the place to be for the wealthy, and it also features Poshley Sanctum, the former site of a Crystal Star. Much to the YB's chargin, the town's laws can't allow flying ships to fly over them, mainly due to blocking the view of something.
Area 64
Area 64 is a joint-use outpost on the Mushroom Kingdom and Beanbean Kingdom border, spanning across both sides, although mostly on the Beanbean area. It is almost completly underground, hiding miles of passageways and storage rooms. It's central room controls the defensive systems of the base, which include electrified spike traps and autoturrets. It contains several factories, one even able to produce Metal Slug Godslayers, the ultimate tank of Star World. The base is also one of the orbital network hubs, and can order Ion Cannon strikes from orbit. It also has a weapon known as the Starcrusher Cannon, a defensive cannon able to fire at distant targets, which was later stolen by Tolstar. It was first revealed when the Koopa Cruiser crashed en route to Beanbean Kingdom. The base was destroyed in The Porthex Invasion, though works are in place to recover the base. In Anecdote 3, a copy of the base was used as the Yoshi Bodyguard base of operations for Operation: Cloud Hunt.
Fahr Outpost
Fahr Outpost is a... well, far outpost. It's northwest of Rogueport, and is inhabited by Bob-Ombs with Russian accents. The outpost has a massive cannon which can shoot things (or people) far enough to the moon. For some reason, they're worried it will be used for evil. Fahr Outpost is not owned by Mushroom Kingdom, but rather the site of a multinational base camp, where top secret military projects are hidden. Fahr Outpost was the site of the beginning of Grodus Rising, where it was revealed that there was a special military lab known as the Gad Instillation where Professor E. Gadd supposedly worked at for the military. Fahr Outpost has also had problems with rebel factions assaulting it's outer perimeter, but the last of these were assimilated into the X-Nauts. Fahr Outpost was raided several times, once being in the Porthex Invasion and another in Grodus Rising. It is still unknown the extent of the military projects hidden there.

Demographics
The Mushroom Kingdom has a widely varied number of species. Toads are the most plentiful, being in a wide range of locations, but there are also a good number of goombas, koopas, and others. There aren't very many humans, however. In recent times, multiple species from other kingdoms and planets have come to live in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Species of the Mushroom Kingdom
This list is in alphabetical order and does not include subspecies. There are waaaaay too many species overall, so only add one if you think it is important. Also, only list a species if it has been known to appear in The Mushroom Kingdom.
- Bandit
- Blooper
- Bob-Omb
- Boo
- Buzzy Beetle
- Cheep Cheep
- Dry Bones
- Duplighost
- Goomba
- Human
- Koopa
- Lakitu
- Toad
- Whacko
- Wiggler
- Yoshi
Due to recent intermingling with surrounding worlds, it is common to see non-native species living in Mushroom Kingdom, most from it's strongest allies in the Galactic Federation. This makes listing every species found in the country nearly impossible to list.
Economy
The Mushroom Kingdom's economy is comprised of coins, of which there are three main kinds: Yellow (value of 1), red (value of 2), and blue (value of 5). Other coins are sometimes found of various values.
Compared to its neighbor, the Beanbean Kingdom, Mushroom Kingdom coins are worth very little. However, this appears to be constantly fluctuating, which means that at any given moment one coin could be worth more than another. Economists are baffled at this, and attempts to stop constant fluctuation have not done very well.
Obtaining coins is generally very easy, as coins are often found inside floating blocks and also obtained from defeating hostile creatures. Other times, they can be found just lying around.
