Bloo is a blue boo from Star World who has been after the ultimate power over water for many years. He is not actually a born-boo, as he was once a bandit named Blundit from Rogueport. However, he killed himself to become more powerful, although it doesn't seem to be working. He has a partner in the form of Mogmire, which came about due to The 1576 Kingdom Novel.

Top Story Bio
Bloo's past was revealed in Blundit the Bandit; Bloo the Boo. After the events of that story, he worked for King Boo until he was able to steal the bombsphere blueprints. Somewhere along the line, then, he teamed up with Mogmire for some reason. He's crafty and stuff like that, I guess. Selfish. He has watery boo powers, though he's after the ultimate control over water.
History
Blundit
Before dying and becoming a boo, Bloo was a bandit from Rogueport. He was a researcher, researching a water deity known as Ploosientle. Apparently, Ploosientle had the power to completely control water, but was locked away because the gods feared him or something. He was locked away in an underwater prison, where his power remained to this day. Blundit wanted to go and find this power, but had trouble in Rogueport from the other bandits who had recently converged into a mafia under a bandit known only as "Boss Bandit". Boss Bandit began threatening to do Blundit in if he didn't start making his quota of thievery, but Blundit refused to steal anything.
There was also a snifit girl named Sniffle who had fallen in love with him, but Blundit had no similar feelings and continued to try and get her to get away from him. Eventually during one chase, they ended up outside the office of Frankie and Francesca, where they overheard the bandits asking the Pianta Mafia to do Blundit in (so as to not bring up suspicion of Boss Bandit). This caused Blundit to become depressed until Sniffle reminded him of the power of water he wanted, and so got Professor Frankly and Goombella to help him find it. First, he needed a ship.
Just then, the Pirate King Cortez and Admiral Bobbery came up to Rogueport and ended up giving them a lift to the location Blundit believed Ploosientle's prison was. A yoshi named Coshi and some robot named A.A.A. joined them for some reason. Once they reached the location, however, two ships of Boss Bandit's attacked them. Luckily for them, the ships were sank and disappeared; unfortunately, when Blundit went underwater to the prison, he found out he was not powerful enough and that he needed a way to break into the prison anyway. He became depressed again, but when Cortez mentioned something about how powerful he was as a ghost, Blundit decided to kill himself to become more powerful. On January 1st, midnight, the new year, Blundit hung himself, and Bloo was born.
King Boo
Now a boo, Bloo stowed onto a ship (which was easy with invisibility), where he obtained a newspaper speaking of the recent exploits of The Yoshi Bodyguards against King Boo, and read about the Bombsphere and realized it would be the perfect item to destroy the prison holding Ploosientle's power. Bloo tried to steal the blueprints, but was stopped by some of King Boo's henchmen. Bloo claimed he was trying to meet King Boo and wanted to work for him, so King Boo allowed him to start working.
Bloo never did very much until sometime after King Boo joined Federation of Evil Acquaintances. When they had taken over Animal World, Bloo suggested that King Boo and the other boos remain while the rest of FOEA take over the Mushroom Kingdom as a backup plan. Dark Top liked the idea, which was good for them, as the YB eventually defeated and jailed FOEA except for King Boo. When hearing of this, King Boo, Bloo and the other boos went to Star World, and while King Boo and Bloo kidnapped Yoshi, the rest of the boos broke out the other FOEA members while the YB were busy saving Yoshi.
For the rest of the time of FOEA, Bloo did very little, and after FOEA broke up, Bloo finally got the chance and stole the Bombsphere blueprints. This was going to be chronicled in a YB story, but becamse MDY controlled King Boo, Topmonhit wanted to work on a story with MDY. However, activity waned, MDY became inactive, and the story was cancelled, instead a simple statement of "Bloo finally managed to steal the Bombsphere blueprints and left King Boo."
Mogmire
Soon after leaving King Boo, Bloo encountered Mogmire, and the two of them ended up joining forces due to having similar goals (or something like that. Mogmire was just greedy, and Bloo said the ultimate power of water could bring riches to them, so... there you go). Now that they finally had the blueprints, they gathered up a sum of money and built it. They then hid in Ploosientle's prison cave and began to sink ships using whirlpools in order to use the sunken ships as power to bring Ploosientle back. Unfortunately, when they broke open the prison, they also broke a hole in the cave, causing it to begin flooding; just then, a giant blob of water appeared and attacked them, causing them to fall into the prison themselves and get stuck.
Later, they were able to escape and left to Rogueport. After somehow getting sixty coins, they were going to ask Frankie, the leader of the Pianta Syndicate, what Cortez's sailing route was, but Bloo accidently lost all their coins in the Pianta Parlor. They got into a fight and split up, but then Bloo realized he was a boo and could float through walls. He went into Frankie's office and found out Cortez was already there, so he went to Cortez's ship but first ran into Team Flash and decided to let them help him.
They flew in Team Flash's balloon to Cortez's ship, and there Bloo saw Mogmire and Lord Crump. Bloo tried to apologize to Mogmire, but Cortez's ship was attacked by a cannonball and another ship appeared from underwater, which Bloo recognized with Boss Bandit's insignia. Team Flash's balloon was then shot down, and they crashed onto Boss Bandit's ship, where Team Flash was sent blasting off again. Bloo floated around the ship until he found a prison room where he found Sniffle, who had been kidanpped by Boss Bandit and imprisoned.
Bloo freed Sniffle, then went to fight Boss Bandit but found Mogmire instead. They made up, but the ship then began to sink into the sea, which it did. Bloo and Mogmire escaped, then came back later to try and find Sniffle, but instead Bloo found a message in a bottle from Sniffle, who wrote that she had died and became a ghost like Bloo, but instead left him and joined a boo pirate named Pinkeye. Bloo crumped up the letter, and he and Mogmire went to start a band to raise some money.
Raising Money
This brought them to the possibly nonexistant city of Toad City, where Bloo and Mogmire began to build up some funds with a small band. During this time, however, the city was attacked by a magical humanoid creature called a morph; Bloo and Mogmire, along with Agal Bracy, fought against it, but eventually the morph was gunned down by SWDF soldiers and Bloo and Mogmire quickly left.
Discrepancies
Bloo originally did not have any plan to achieve the ultimate power over water, but this is simply because it was before his full plan was mapped out.
Non-Canon Appearances
In The Yoshi Bodyguards in Lemon Lime Time…, a future version of Bloo appeared, where he was able to multiply into many Bloo and form Bloolossus. He was battled in Morton Koopa Sr.'s castle, but was defeated by the YB. The future he appeared in, however, was prevented from happening, so while it appeared in the canon storyline, it is an alternate future. On a side note, this seems to be before Bloo was planned to leave King Boo.
The 1576 Kingdom Novel
In The 1576 Kingdom Novel, Bloo first appeared in Part 15: Battle 1: Team 25 vs Team 54. He joined the story around the same time that Noshum and Mogmire did, and this caused confusion when the author, Fireflower, got which side Bloo and Noshum were on mixed up. This later caused comical edits when FF reposted the parts. At first, it seemed that Bloo wanted the heroes to win in Melee Arena, the location of this chapter, and that Mogmire was helping him. However, it then turned out Mogmire was helping Noshum, who was trapped in a coffin of sorts. HOWEVER, Mogmire was actually helping Bloo and only pretending to help Noshum by pretending to help Bloo.
Bloo became the heroes' manager, but when they found out he was actually evil, they blew him up and stuff. He wouldn't return until the end of the chapter, where he secretly followed them; since then, he's followed Team Awesome with his team that's been known as Team Bloo. After Chapter 4, the Shadow Prince (boss of Chapter 4) joined Bloo and Mogmire, and after Chapter 5, Bobbington (boss of Chapter 5) joined them. Even though it made no sense for him to be where they were. Generally they seem to be lousy, but occasionally manage to do some things right. Of note is Chapter 7, where they fought Darth Leslie and Peggy Koopa before Team Awesome. They also managed to defeat the main members of Team Awesome in the final chapter, but were then defeated by some Mecha-Yoshi.
Personal Information
Personality
Bloo has been described as not an anti-hero but an anti-villain, being that he is a villain, but has some heroic traits. Okay, so he doesn't have many heroic traits, but he's still an anti-villain. His main focus has always been the "ultimate power over water" although exactly why is unknown. He's also pretty sneaky, greedy, and mean. He's dislikable, and generally doesn't care about the well-being of others; he hardly cares about the well-being of himself, having killed himself to become more powerful.
Despite this, he does have a soft side, although this side doesn't seem to come up very often. He also once expressed some romantic interest in Bow, although whether this is still around is unknown. His softer and friendlier side has come up when he and Mogmire broke up, as he had wanted to make up to Mogmire and was ashamed at losing all their money, showing that he does have a conscience.
Appearance
Bloo is a blue boo. Did you catch that?
Abilities
Bloo has various water-based abilities, most of which involve just using watery attacks, but he's also able to conjure up water bombs and a water hammer. He can also suck up a large amount of water if needed, and once was shown to have the ability to split into multiple Bloos (however, he has some difficulty using this ability, and sometimes it goes out of control).
Final Smash: Acid Rain
Bloo dances and it starts to rain. Acid Rain. It harms everyone except Bloo who is actually healed from it.
Items
Bloo has an unlimited supply of water-based bombs (which, although are made of water, still explode like a normal bomb, only it's... watery) and a water-based hammer. He generally just has a bunch of items that are water-based.
Information on Blundit
Unlike Bloo, Blundit seems to have been weak and somewhat passive. He was, however, a bit of a rebel, and was actually more good-natured than Bloo, not wanting to steal things like other bandits. Unlike Bloo, he couldn't conjure up water-based items and in fact had no real weapons at all.
Interactions with Other Characters
The Yoshi Bodyguards
- Main Article: The Yoshi Bodyguards
Bloo just plain doesn't like the YB. Mostly, he doesn't like very many people, but... still, he doesn't like the YB. In the unused Yoshi Bodyguards Mansion 2, Bloo temporarily worked with the YB, although he was only using them to get to the Bombsphere blueprints.
King Boo
Bloo generally doesn't like King Boo that much, although this is likely because he was forced to work for him to get close to the Bombsphere blueprints. While he has no true hatred towards him, he feels a sort of accomplishment in tricking King Boo for all these years (even though it's uncertain whether King Boo even cared, as when asked where Bloo went, he just muttered something about him stealing his sandwich or something).
Mogmire
- Main Article: Mogmire
Somewhere along the line, Bloo and Mogmire met and joined in a partnership. It probably wasn't in the 1576 Kingdom. Anyway, their personalities share some traits, and although their partnership seems to be mostly business, it might be more than that in a friends-type-deal. This seems to be supported in Bloo & Mogmire: Perfect Partnercuters, though there they get into a fight.
Sniffle
Sniffle has been out of Bloo's mind for a while now; occasionally, he'll remember her, but won't care. As Blundit, they were friends, but Blundit found her annoying often, as she wanted him to be her boyfriend and in fact believed that. After she dumped him and left for Pinkeye, however, Bloo felt a bit of emptiness for a second.
Trivia
- Topmonhit once considered making Bloolossus Bloo's final smash, but this was after Bloo already had Acid Rain as his FS.
- Topmonhit has considered changing Bloo to a Boo Guy, but feels that by now he's existed too long to have a change like that and works too well as a Boo.
- For Halloween 2008, Bloo went as the Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
