Virginia Council BBYO #56 is the slightly smaller council of the two in Eastern Region, consisting of around 200 members (of the 550 in Eastern).
Two areas of Virginia primarily compromise the council - Richmond and Tidewater (Virginia Beach & Norfolk).
In Richmond there is one AZA chapter and two BBG chapters - Monarchs AZA, Abraham Cohen BBG, and Tikvah BBG. In Tidewater there are two AZA and two BBG chapters - Old Dominion AZA, Dr. Israel Brown AZA, Simcha BBG and Kruger BBG. Additionally, the 2011-2012 Council Board is currently beginning development on the formation of a new, co-ed chapter in the area known as the "Colonial Triangle" of Virginia: Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown -- known for the time being as "Williamsburg BBYO".
