Godol is a board position in the Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA). From the Hebrew word meaning big or tall, Godol in this case is used to mean president. The Godol is the head board member on an executive board, whether that be on the chapter, council, regional, or international level.

[edit] Grand Aleph Godol

The international Godol is called the Grand Aleph Godol (GAG). The GAG serves as the President of the Aleph Zadik Aleph. He presides at all sessions of the International Convention and Executive Committee meetings. He coordinates the efforts of the International Officers, and appoints chairmen and committees as necessary to carry out the decisions of the International AZA Convention. The GAG communicates with all Council, Regional, and District Aleph Godolim. He serves on the adult governing board of the Aleph Zadik Aleph, as well as the B'nai B'rith Youth Commission and the B'nai B'rith International Board of Governors. The GAG visits districts, regions, councils and chapters for the purpose of guidance and oversight. He fosters alumni development and maintains contact with past GAGs. He acts as the liaison between AZA and BBYO stakeholders, AZA and BBG, and between the teen leadership and staff. He is the official representative and voice of the Grand Order of the Aleph Zadik Aleph. This position is customarily held by a high school graduate that chooses to defer their freshman year of college. The current Grand Aleph Godol is Mason Quintero.
