Virginia Council BBYO #56 is the slightly smaller council of the two which comprimise Eastern Region (the other being North Carolina Council , consisting of around 225 members (of the 600 in Eastern).
Two areas of Virginia primarily compromise the council - Richmond and Tidewater (Virginia Beach & Norfolk).
In Richmond there is one AZA chapter and two BBG chapters - Monarchs AZA, Abraham Cohen BBG, and Tikvah BBG. In Tidewater there are two AZA and two BBG chapters - Old Dominion AZA, Dr. Israel Brown AZA, Simcha BBG and Kruger BBG.
Finally, established in 2011 by the 2011-2012 Council Leadership, a BBYO chapter was founded on Virginia Peninsula encompassing Williamsburg, VA and Newport News, VA - a chapter called "Halutzim BBYO".
