• Peter busts a group of roller-blading muggers and leaves them for the cops to find. The event makes him late for science class. Peter comes into to class late, interrupting it and breaking a table of equipment. He is however able to answer the question the teacher was posing to the class at the time of his entry (6.02 x 10 to the 23 power is known as Avogadro’s number).
• After class, Peter and MJ walk through the school hall while MJ makes references to how she watched Peter on the news the night before. She informs him that Kraven’s show got cancelled after fighting Spider-Man on live TV.
• During lunch, MJ comments on how Peter’s aunt had called her the previous night. Peter tells her that he got grounded for sneaking in at 3 am. Peter makes MJ promise that she won’t sneak over during the time he is grounded as he is trying to make things up to his aunt. During this conversation, Harry Osborn returns to school and is seen by MJ and Peter. They rush to him and attempt to catch up. They are interrupted by Kong and Flash. Harry blows Flash off saying that only Peter and MJ had written him or called since his time away.
• Harry meets Gwen Stacy. He then tells Peter that his father wants Peter to come over for dinner. He tells Peter and MJ that he was mistaken about the identity of the Goblin that attacked Midtown High and that his father is fine. Peter declines the invitation, telling Harry that he is grounded.
• Peter returns home. He feels that Osborn|Norman is indeed the Goblin and fears that he remembers Peter’s secret identity. He arrives at the house to find a limo waiting for him sent by the Osborns. Aunt May is waiting for him as well and tells him to go visit his friend, that she will ignore the grounding for this special occasion.
• Peter rides the limo into the city, during the trip; he sees a cloaked figure on top of a bridge that disappears upon further investigation. He is greeted at the Osborns skyscraper by Harry who takes him upstairs.
• Harry tells Peter that he has to finish up a session with his therapist but Harry’s dad is wishing to speak with Peter. Peter goes into Norman’s office, dreading the confrontation. In the office, a large television screen is displaying footage of Peter’s accident at Oscorp (Ultimate Spider-Man 1) and his fight with Dr. Octopus (Ultimate Spider-Man 20). Norman Osborn then enters, looking completely normal and human. He tells Peter that he hopes that he has gotten the Spider-Man out of his system and that he is done with it. He tells Peter that he is now going to work for him.
• Norman tells Peter he survived the bridge incident (Ultimate Spider-Man 7) by evolving. He then takes a syringe out of a case and inject himself in the neck with the contents. He then falls to the ground and morphs into the Goblin.
Notes:
- Harry Osborn moved away after the events of Ultimate Spider-Man 7.
- Peter states, while thinking to himself, that he would marry MJ.
- Harry tells Peter that Mary Jane confided in Harry that she was in love with Peter. Harry then expresses interest in [[Gwen Stacy]].
- The events of this issue must occur on a Monday, it is indicated in Ultimate Spider-Man 23 that the Dr.Octopus fight occurred on a Saturday. Since MJ has not talked to Peter about this until now, it seems that this has to be their first day back at school for the week. This means that 2 days have passed since Ultimate Spider-Man 21.
