Plasmus

From Titanpedia

Plasmus is one of the trio villains that is mostly controlled by Slade to further his plans.

Plasmus was an unconscious man floating in a glass cylinder in a specialized room in Divide and Conquer. He was broken free by Cinderblock, who carried him (after breaking the glass cylinder) to Slade's hideout. Is is then revealed that the man is Plasmus, but needs to stay asleep in order not to transform into Plasmus.

Plasmus can divide into several parts, each being connected to each other mentally, so that they can separate a team of superheroes and can take them down simultaneously without being wholly there. In it's divided stage, it could easily avoid attacks by the Teen Titans, and could take them down easier. Raven, however, can enter it by using her soul self to destroy it from the inside, causing Plasmus to revert back to its human state.

Plasmus can grow by consuming masses of green waste, possibly as its' food source, as it is what is probably inside of it. It is possible to go through Plasmus at times, to be covered in a viscous green slime (which Starfire decrees as "unpleasant", and Beastboy saying that it is "foul-tasting"), which is probably the aforementioned sewage waste above, but other times, the Teen Titans get stuck in it, as if Plasmus was made out of gum. Plasmus can regenerate it's limbs, and also use it's strength to hurl heavy items at the Titans.

Appearance

Plasmus is mostly seen in the monster version, with sticky, putrid tasting goo as it's body. Plasmus's eyes are different throughout the show, sometimes being portrayed as tiny, triangular eyes, and other times as multiple green, oval, green-goo filled sacs on the front of its' head. It's hands are clawed, and it appears to have teeth also (as you can see it when it opens it's mouth to roar).

Trivia

  • Plasmus is often seen working with Slade's other henchmen, particularly Overload and Cinderblock. In Aftershock Part II, however, he became part of them (as Ternion) when Slade fused them together in an attempt to beat the Titans.
