Postscript (19th June 2007)
A summary of the day, by our chairman:
The family tournament proved a huge success with 17 pairs entering. The weather was against us and the event was almost cancelled but everybody arrived and a great time was had by all. The sun came out just in time for the barbecue and the parents/adults were able to enjoy the rest of the evening sitting outside the bar while the kids ran riot on the hard courts.
The competition itself was won by Richard and Adrian Gray in a closely fought final against Adam Salisbury and Peter Maclean. The other prizes and winners were:
- Most Sportsmanly: Jack Kidd
- Best Concentration: Alex Manser
- Most Stylish Serve: Harry Meatyard
- Most Enthusiastic: Alison Thomson
- Best Newcomer: Mathew Roberts
- Best 'Oldie': Mr P Maclean
