Winter Programme 2010-11

Fixed Fours on Mondays and Thursdays

The format is for prearranged doubles pairings to play one set—the first to six games—and then come off if another four are waiting to get on. Please respect the need for a quick turnaround if members are waiting to get onto the courts.

If you are looking to get involved with a Fixed Four but are unable to arrange a regular four, can you send an email signifying your interest to chris@jaza.clara.co.uk with email and contact details? The list of prospective players can then be circulated amongst those expressing interest.

Singles players can of course use the Thames Ditton LTC Mens Ladder to arrange matches on: http://www.ropeyladder.com

Social Tennis on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons

Members play a set of doubles—first to six games—with whomever is available and then return to the clubhouse or pavilion to await allocation for the next doubles group. Allocation to a doubles group is in order of arrival. Singles games can only continue if there are spare courts.

Free Play

Free Play outside of the listed periods is unregulated.

Floodlights and Court Booking

Other than the Monday, Thursday and Friday evening slots, members must book the floodlit courts using the online court booking system on http://www.clubwww.co.uk/ClubWWWFacilities.php. Please note you can only book the courts which are not already booked for coaching or by other members and outside of Monday, Thursday and Fridays when the club pays for the lights.

Courts which have already been booked are clearly visible on the booking site.

To log on you need to ensure you use the Sign In page which looks like this:

Account: TDLC
Username:
Password:

Ensure Account is set to TDLC then type in your username followed by password. Once logged on click on the Bookings and Availability page. Simply click on the court and time you wish to book on the relevant date. You can set the time period you wish to book for.

If you are unable to log on to the booking site for any reason or need to know your log on details contact Chris Lewis on chris@jaza.clara.co.uk or 07770 56 2569.

If you have not booked and are on court, you will have to give way to those who have booked.

To manage the three courts under lights you can only book for 1.5 hours maximum in two slots from 6.00-7.30pm or 7.30-9.00pm. Please respect this. (Due to the coaching on Tuesdays, two of the three floodlit courts are out until 7.00pm. So on these days only courts 8 & 9 can be booked from 19.00-21.00.)

Please note you can only book up to 28 days ahead under the booking system.

Floodlight tokens can be purchased from the bar Mondays and Fridays and from committee members. We suggest if you are intending to book a regular slot over the winter you stock up on tokens. They cost £1.50 per half hour.

The bar will be open Mondays and Fridays over the winter and the bar rota will run for Mondays only. Ad hoc arrangements outside of these days. Members will only have to run the bar on a Monday once every few years.
