It’s all GO within the Junior Section of the Tennis Club in Spring 2010

The club has planned a Junior afternoon for Friday 30th April at the club of mix-in tennis doubles from 4.30pm followed by a Junior Quiz from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The bar will be open from 5.00pm for parents and friends to come down to start the weekend, meet the committee, club coaches and see the new development of the NEW hard court pavilion and floodlights.

This year the club has entered the LTA backed Junior Aegon Team Tennis and Mini Leagues for several age groups - Under-8 boys, Under-12 girls and boys, Under-14 girls and boys, Under-16 girls and boys and Under 18 boys, where the club has already sufficient known players registered. It’s not too late to join an available age group squad to be able to compete in one or more of the scheduled fixtures.

Additionally, we have the Under-14s or Road to Wimbledon tournament scheduled to be played within the club from which both a winning girl and boy will go forward to the Surrey regional play-offs. Registration to compete must be sent to me by April 1st 2010 at tdltcjuniors@googlemail.com

The club would also like to start club based bi-monthly Box Leagues by age group that we would like all Junior players to opt in to participating in. The success of these leagues is entirely based upon enough Junior players by age-group making the commitment to sign up and also plenty of support from parents.

To be involved in any of these leagues / competitions, Junior players must be registered with the LTA to gain a ranking. Go to this LTA link.

For all Juniors within the club, group coaching is on hand with Marc Codling and his team, every Saturday morning throughout the year at the club. The Saturday groups are run with two levels, catering for development and performance players. For the summer term, groups will also be running after school on Tuesdays. There will also be holiday camps running in the Easter and Summer holidays 2010. Marc will be at the club on the Quiz Night to meet any parents and Juniors that need a boost to their tennis ability and enjoyment of tennis, whatever their level!

On the evening of the Quiz night, information on the above will be available for all the above.

Your family support will be greatly appreciated on the 30th April, and also both on the court and off through the coming summer months, to make the Thames Ditton Lawn Tennis Club Junior section a great place for both you and your family to socialise and be a part of the tennis community.
