The Simpsons ULTIMATE Fan Club
From Stmargarets
The Simpsons ULTIMATE Fan Club was formed in the 2001-2002 school year by junior class member Tom Knight. There were some initial problems as to who would sponsor the club, as the initial sponsorship duties were held by Jim Warren. However, the spirit of the club was saved by the adoption of sponsorship duties by Larry Rice.
Initial club meetings were characterized by Mr. Rice's room being completely packed with rowdy Simpsons fans of all ages and several fights over freshly delivered pizza from Round Table. Weekly meetings were frequently attended and enjoyed, but controversy brewed when members discovered that Tom did not have any episodes to watch other than those on the video Simpsons' Political Party. After several, several viewings of the Political Party video, members became very hostile towards the club leadership, and there was talk of secession.
The club was saved by the introduction of the Simpsons season DVDs, and with Tom Knight's acquisition of the first season DVD, there was enough material to last for a very long time.
While the initial two years under Tom Knight's leadership were highly successful, club morale significantly decreased under the rule of successor Chris Knight. Meetings were never on a weekly basis and enthusiasm was at an all time low. After Chris Knight's graduation, there were no other members of the Knight family to take leadership of the club. Nobody was ever able to fill the power vacuum, and consequently it dissolved. Members were forced to attend the vastly inferior Family Guy club instead.
