If my memory serves me, their skill in mana and magic means that their main export is mercenaries. This makes me wonder how this has affected their culture, and if there's enough need for it throughout the world to support them, that makes me wonder about the world at large. I also seem to remember hearing that they have a shamanistic culture. Perhaps that could be expounded on.
