The History of the End of the World
The Pre-Game Show
- 13 April 2006, 1100 GMT: The Deluge washes across the world.
- 15 April 2006: First cases of Fate's Handmaiden appear but are misdiagnosed as various upper respiratory infections.
- 22 April 2006: Mildred A. Levinworth, 45, mother of three, homemaker of Fairfax, VA, USA becomes Patient 0, and the first to die on record of Fate's Handmaiden which is recognized as a form of plague. Pharmacies and the CDC scramble to distribute antibiotics.
- 29 April 2006: Fate's Handmaiden is a pandemic, spreading like wildfire. The borders of the US are closed.
- 30 April 2006: The President of the United States initiates martial law throughout the country, "only until such time as the treatment of this disease has been properly distributed and the cure has been managed."
- 2 May 2006: A news broadcast leaks out that reveals that the treatment for Fate's Handmaiden is not working and that the mortality rate for the disease is 100%.
- 17 May 2006: Wing Yee Hom, 51, a native of China dies of Fate's Handmaiden. She is one of the last human beings on the planet infected by the disease, and the last one to die of it. After this date, the only humans left on the planet are those who either possess a natural immunity to the plague, or who managed never to be exposed to it.
The Game Begins
13 June 2006
- Indiana Jones arrives in Haven. He is injured in a fall and is rescued by Ami Jackson, who has been living in the town alone since her friend Adam Newman left.
- Victor Kruger arrives in Haven.
- Michelle Webster meets Marie Brown just outside of Haven, and the two of them enter the town, where they encounter Ami, Indiana and Victor.

- 4:07 a.m. (local time), the electrical grid in Haven fails.
- Lillian McPhee, who has been maintaining the system virtually singlehandedly since everyone she knew died, visits the Rowland house about 8 a.m. to meet the survivors who've been living there. She hopes to recruit some help in getting the grid functioning again, albeit on a smalle scale.
