Use these templates for stories that contain triggery material. Do not overuse these warnings. "Triggery" means "likely to cause flashbacks or damaging mood upheavals in those who've survived similar situations," not just "some people don't like reading this kind of thing."

In the United States, someone is sexually assaulted every 2 minutes. Almost five children a day die as a result of child abuse. And fandom loves to torture our heroes. Many writers and readers use fiction as a way to process their own histories. Others simply enjoy the fic. None of us can afford to ignore the potential harm caused by one of our sisters or brothers stumbling into unexpectedly evocative material when their healing is still fragile.

Try to use the most specific and accurate warning template(s) available; use the generic Trigger Warning only when a more specific one isn't available.
