Deathfic
This story features the death of one or more major characters.

This page is the template used to create the deathfic warning box -- a sample can be seen to the right. To use this template, insert the code {{Deathfic}} somewhere in the text of the page.

This template does not need to be included in every fic where someone dies. Canon deaths do not need to be warned for unless the death scene or its aftermath is described in detail (however, please check that spoiler warnings for the appropriate episode are included). Deaths of minor characters or original characters do not need to be warned for unless the character has been a major character in that particular story. Temporary deaths of characters known to be immortal do not need to be warned for; however, the permanent death of any major character does. If a normally mortal character dies but "gets better" (including stories where they stay dead but stick around as a ghost anyway), use your best judgment, weighing how the death is handled, including how quickly the reader, the narrator, and other characters learn that the death isn't final and how the living characters react to the death.
