[edit] Storylines

The show will include matches resulting from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portray heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by WIW's writers on the Rage and ShowDown brands, while storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television shows, Wednesday Night Rage and Saturday Night ShowDown.

On the July 29 episode of Rage, Brent Huntley cut a promo listing many of his accolades before delcaire that he wanted the WIW World Championship again. He then issued a challenge to Kevin McAlmond for a title match at SummerBash, however he was interrupted by Quay Painter, Eric Stevens, Matt Borske, and Kooper McAlmond who all declared they deserved the title shot at SummerBash before brawling. Later that night, McAlmond accepted Huntley's challenge and then defeated Michael Fonger in a Broken Bodies match, a rematch from Broken Bodies: The Bloodbath Horror Show, preventing Fonger from earning the title match at SummerBash. Following the match, Huntley and McAlmond brawled through the building, and soon Painter, Stevens, Borske, and Kooper joined in the brawl. Rex Martin would than announced a Six-Pack Challenge Elimination match for SummerBash.

On the July 22 episode of Rage, Quinn Noel and Tadd Mason lost to Rage World Tag Team Champions The Starling Arrows (Stephen Amell and David Ramsey). The following week, Noel and Mason won a triple threat tag team match to earn a title match at SummerBash. On the August 5 episode of Rage, Richard Reaves and Jordan Singleton defeated Noel and Mason. Later that night, it was announced that due to the win, Singleton and Reaves would be added to the match at SummerBash.

After United Nations Champion Dustin Simpson repeatedly declined John Lehr's offer to join his faction, the two had a non-title match on July 1 episode of Rage that was won by Lehr. After the match, Simpson was brutally attacked by Eric Stevens. The following week, Lehr unveiled a new United Nations Championship belt design and stated that he would face Simpsons for the title at Broken Bodies: The Bloodbath Horror Show, however management over turned Lehr's challenge and booked Simpson to defend the title against Junior Remeriz, Will Kapphan, and Nick Kessler in a fatal four way match. At the event, however, the match ended in a no contest when Lehr, Stevens, and the newest addition to the new faction Junior Remeriz as well as other members of the former Evolved Revolution faction attacked Simpson and the other challengers. Lehr then delcared himself by forfeit and unofficially claimed himself to be the new United Nations Champion. Simpson, sporting the older title belt, returned on the August 5 episode of Rage and he and Lehr formally had their title match where Simpson retained. Simpsons later said he would give the old belt to his kids while he kept the new belt Lehr introduced. Lehr then demanded a rematch for SummerSlam and Simpson accepted, Lehr then revealed that Junior Remeriz would be part of the match as well, giving the statement that he would have won the title at Broken Bodies, Simpson agreed and accepted.

Following several weeks of Eric Stevens and Stevens' faction tormenting and taunting Richard Munoz, the two finally faced each other at Broken Bodies: The Bloodbath Horror Show in an Vindication Bloodbath match; the match was won by Stevens, after interference by Gleason and Tobol. After gloating about the the way he beat Munoz, he then insulting Munoz's son Miro on the July 29 episode of Rage Miro confronted and attacked Stevens and his faction for his actions on his father, but was eventually overpowered Miro until Kevin McAlmond came out to Miro's aid. McAlmond and Stevens would brawl into the parking lot, leaving Miro with Gleason and Tobol until James Burdick and Ryan Barnhart made the save, eventually Gleason injured Burduck. The following week, Miro on behalf of Barnhart challenged Gleason or Tobol to a match at SummerSlam. Later, after Gleason and Tobol taunted commentator Sam Simkins (which led to fellow commentator Peter Damrow defending Simpkins), they were both attacked from behind by Miro, Barnhart and Burdick with a kendo stick. An irate Stevens would eventually accept Miro's challenge on behalf of Barnhart, after he announced he'd be competing for the World title, which didn't seem to set well with Gleason or Tobol, but would evenually agree and accept.
