SuperBrawl Retaliation is a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WIW for their Rage and SmackDown brand divisions. It is scheduled to take place on May 16, 2021 and will be broadcast from the WIW IncorporatedDome, hosted at the Shopko Center in Helena, Montana. It will be the 16th event in the Retaliation chronology and will be WIW's first pay-per-view to present the IncorporatedDome from the Shopko Center during the COVID-19 pandemic, following a four-month residency at Macy's Center in Helena, Montana.

Production
Background
Retaliation is a recurring pay-per-view (PPV) event that was established by WIW in 1999. The event continued annually as the post-SuperBrawl event until 2009, which was the final event until 2016. It was brought back that year following the reintroduction of the brand extension, where WIW again split its roster between the Rage and SmackDown brands where wrestlers are exclusively assigned to perform; the 2016 event also ended its previous tradition of being the post-SuperBrawl pay-per-view. The event then continued annually until 2018 when it was replaced by Stomping Territory the following year, but was reinstated in 2020. but during SuperBrawl XIII, it was revealed that Backlash would be held on May 16—switching dates with that year's Money in the Bank—and would be titled "SuperBrawl Retaliation," thus returning Retaliation to its original role of being the post-SuperBrawl PPV. It will be the 16th event in the Retaliation chronology and feature wrestlers from the Rage and ShowDown brands.
Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
Storylines
The show will include matches that result from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portray heroes, villains or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by WIW's writers on the Rage and ShowDown brands, while storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television shows, Wednesday Night Rage and Saturday Night ShowDown.
At SuperBrawl XIII Saturday, Charlie Hunnam defeated Eric Stevens and Kevin McAlmond in a Triple threat match to retain the WIW World Championship. On the following Wednesday night's Rage, Tommy Flanagan declared that since Hunnam won the title, no one could defeat Hunnam. McAlmond interrupted and wanted another shot at Hunnam, claiming that he would have defeated him if it Flanagan and Lehr had not distracted him and prevented him from performing the Killer Effect on Hunnam and Stevens. Mad Hanson, Eric Stevens and Brent Huntley then interrupted and stated their respective cases to challenge for the title. WIW official Joe Spieker then came out and scheduled a fatal four way eliminator match between McAlmond, Hanson, Stevens and Huntley with the two winners facing Hunnam for the WIW World Championship at SuperBrawl Retaliation, which was won by McAlmond and Stevens.
At SuperBrawl XIII Saturday, Rona Fessenden defeated Brittany Hiatt, Victoria Lehr, Scout Compton and Ravyn Scott in a Fatal five-way elimination match to earn a future shot at the WIW World Women's Championship. At SuperBrawl XIII Sunday, Jennipher Harper defeated Jenna Lilley to win the WIW World Women's Championship. On the following Wednesday night's Rage, before Fessenden could announce when her title match would be, she was confronted by the new champion after a brawl broke out. On April 17, WIW official Glennda McAlmond announced on WIW.come that Fessenden would announcer her title shot at a later date, before revealing that due to what happen on Rage, Fessenden would be the special guest referee of Harper's title defense at SuperBrawl Retaliation.
