Superclash III is the 2nd annual Superclash professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by AEW, it will be held on June 22, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Background
Superclash III will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on AEW's television programs. Wrestlers portray heels or faces as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
On May 11, Gunner won the 2014 Wrestle War match earning himself a AEW World Heavyweight Championship match at Superclash III, at the same event Samoa Joe and [[Chris Jericho (AEW)|Chris Jericho became co-AEW World Heavyweight Champion's in the War Games match after making the former champion, CM Punk submit to a combination of the Walls of Jericho from Jericho and a Crossface by Samoa Joe. On June 9 on the special Concussion, Joe defeated Jericho to become the Undisputed AEW Champion.
