Production

Background

SummerBash is a pay-per-view (PPV) event held annually in August by WIW since 1999. Dubbed "The Biggest Party of the Summer," it is one of the promotion's original four pay-per-views, along with SuperBrawl, World War, and Soul Survivor, referred to as the "Big Four" as they are the promotion's biggest shows of the year produced quarterly. It is considered WIW's second biggest event of the year behind SuperBrawl. The 2021 event will be the 34th event in the SummerBash chronology and feature wrestlers from the Rage and ShowDown brands.

Storylines

The show will include matches that result from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portray heroes, villains or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by WIW's writers on the Rage and ShowDown brands, while storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television shows, Wednesday Night Rage and Saturday Night ShowDown.
