This "Grand Author Council" claims as its sole purposes several things which are close to my heart. I must agree with the Chronicler C, however: the anonymity and secrecy of the organization puts their motives in question. If they are, as they claim, a secret organization, they may well have hidden agendas that they've not revealed. Call me paranoid (it's a compliment), but secret organizations tend to think about the results of their actions, and it's obvious enough that their current method can cause a flame-war that they can't have failed to notice it. Even if they don't intentionally cause a flamewar (the type of situation which often includes at least one instance of everything they claim to oppose), the inherent anonymity of the organization means that any schmuck can start a flamewar and destroy their reputation by claiming to speak on their behalf. We've no way of knowing that the new account in Mayhem with their name is at all affiliated with the Grand Author Council, after all. Hell, when I first saw them I assumed the organization was founded by CC, for it shares the initials "GAC", even though it's missing his trademarked 't'. Well, he hasn't trademarked it to my knowledge, but it's...nevermind. The organization toes a dangerous line, and if they aren't careful they'll earn the emnity of the far-more-powerful (at least hereabouts), far-less-secret, and far-more-exclusive Actively Despotic Moderators' Insanity Nook. -Your humble local A.D.M.I.N.
