Description

Phoenix Drones are small attack craft that can either serve a fighter role or as missiles. They are remotely controlled by the DOD's QE communication network, allowing them to instantly communicate with each other and other DOD craft and or personnel. Therefore, in combat they act as if controlled by one mind, allowing for deadly teamwork.

Based on the old Sekar fighters of the DF, the drones are still aren't with twin Tesla Cannons and Hop-Scotch jump drives. The latter allows them to instantly skip a short distance in space, to evade attacks or by pass enemy defensive. However, they have massive recharge times, so can only general be used once per battle.

The resources previously used on life support and similar have instead been devoted to increasing the plasma engines. This allows the drones far greater speed and manoeuvrability than the Sekars. Also, the engines are deliberately designed to explode on impact. This allows the drones to act as their other role, i.e., missiles. Especially when they jump and explode directly inside the enemy ships.
