Appearance - Mazosi is around 5'5" high, 160lbs heavy and her African heritage is obvious. She Usually wears long clothed dresses with all kind of accessors of religious or ritual purpose on her clothes and around finger, wrists and neck. A large hat with feathers and glass shards round the odd look up. A small black knife with old brown spots of blood and rust is sticking in her belt.
Magic - She is a Voodoo Shaman, and recently, her Rituals have had surprisingly real effect... thought if you ask her, they worked always before! She uses the Paths of Protection and Spirits. Where the Path of Protection grants her the ability to create charms which protect from various hazards... but only work for a short period of time or limited number of applications... She can create Sanctuaries which are free and protected from ghosts and evil spirits. Her Path of Spirits lets her summon and command ghosts, In-betweeners and spirits of all sorts... she even can raise Zombies! But that requires to kill someone with a special poison.. it is a very lengthy process. All Voodoo rituals have in common that they take a lot of time and material, need a sanctified ground of sorts and is prone to rejection from any observers. Also, she is not the best in her rituals...: She became a Spirit Warrior of the Voodoo god Legda however. And when she is in urgent Danger or wills it hard enough, Legda will posses her, granting her the gift of overhuman strength and a skin as tough as a chain mail, she becomes immune to pain and Illusions. Legda is a god of wisdom and Justice, who guards the crossroads between the spiritual and human worlds. So the possession ends as soon as she tries to conduct any cruel or unjust deed, it is much easier for her to initiate the possession if she is going to fight a evil spirit or inbetweener. While possessed she looks old and wrinkled, using a cane to lean on... but that looks deceives. AFTER a Possession, she usually is left drained and shaking.
Personality - 'Mamma Imani' was a shaman in her small community and holds the firm believe of spirits, other plains and gods, Magic and holy rituals, Ancestors and a Karma like system of universal justice. Most people disregard any Religion involving Voodoo in any form as superstition. Mazosi is in general friendly and open minded, but forgiveness is not a major virtue in her eyes, if someone does her or her people unjust, she will make sure he is to regret it. Her acting is sometimes hard to understand, she pays more attention to feelings, traditions and signs than to logical and foresight.
History - She grew up in the northern territories of South Africa, learning her business from her grand mother. Her Parents left her with the trusted old woman when they left for the US, and when she herself was old enough and done learning, she followed her Parents, meeting up with her younger siblings and other members of the large family. For long years she was the Shaman of the community, caring not only for the spiritual well being and treatment of minor sicknesses, but also functioning as spokes person toward the authorities, as social worked for the youth and counselor. Right now she if on a journey through the US, a spiritual path finding, because she feels there is something serious impending, something only the oldest of all ancestors seem to have a clue about...
