He started work infor thr WWE as a competitor in 1998 and returned in 2006 after a hiatus to present backstage segments. Funaki has a hyperactive personality and well liked and respected by the majority of the Massacre roster, his hyperactive personality and eagerness to do his job well has meant he is well recieved by the fans. Though Funaki has a tendancy to get lost in translation and vulnerble to attack from heel superstars. In his WWE days, Funaki was part of the faction-turned tag team Kai-en-Tai and a former Hardcore and Cruiserweight title. However he has not won gold since its reform to [DXX].
