[edit] Tides of Fate
[edit] How It Started
Back in the day, Kara and a young Aussie named Clari opened a rather chaotic game called Tides of Fate. This was a considerably small game, though very active, that included muns like Amanda, and Tifa's and Kairi's mun, Brandi.
It was an unnamed world, with a scenery that was ever-changing, rippling with pieces of many worlds, both in surrounding, and in creatures that roamed the world. Everything was covered in a dense fog, and everywhere one went, it always felt, and sounded, as though someone, or something, was following them. Unlucky visitors to this world often had the misfortune of actually being engaged by what lurked in the dark fog.
It consisted of two primary areas: the inhabited area, and the unpopulated area. The inhabited area was a safe area, where, while dangerous, was not so much so as wandering about in the unpopulated area. The characters that were brought into ToF were sucked there, involuntarily, by means unknown to them in IC.
OOCly, the world construct was this: A sentient, nexus-like force called the Nai was seeking to stabilize itself into a whole world, and began to pull individuals across many planes of existence into the chaotic world that made up the game, and from them picked the "most unique" to become what were called Conduits of Memory. Essentially, the Nai tapped into their minds, and sapped out copies of their memories of people, places and things to attempt to build this world. However, the fault with this was that no one remembers something the same exact way over and over, even if they believe they do. So, on top of the conflict of simply trying to piece all the varying memories together, the Nai had to fight with each Conduit's ever-changing thoughts.
The following were the Conduits of Memory, as Kara does recall it, to give you all a good idea of how bad the world was off. Mind you, the more Conduits from a given world (aka FANDOM), the stronger the world that ToF was based in leant towards (list may be inaccurate, but will be rectified, due to this being early-mid 2005).
Conduits of Memory James Sunderland Heather Mason Angela Orosco Jill Valentine Leon Kennedy Squall Leonhart Lady High Summoner Yuna Shitan Uzuki Dante//Vergil (due to being identical twins)
The strong Silent Hill, Resident Evil and Devil May Cry Conduit influence is a primary reason for the paranormal activity that exists in Desai to this day.
[edit] Stabilization
Eventually, the Nai managed to stabilize itself. It did! And thus, a world was born named Desai. Most curious was the fact that the only ones aware of this genesis of sorts happened to be the line-up that existed before it stabilized. As far as all the inhabitants of Desai, almost 30 years ago, were concerned, Desai always existed.
But even the citizens of Desai were rocked, as the day that strange people started crashing out of no where, everywhere, strange portals began to open all across the city of Desai, leading to other worlds. This would be when MDEA was born, in an attempt to learn about and control the situation.
Things turned awry, however, at this point, when the city was over-whelmed by a demonic attack, that would spawn a large civil war within the city. This is when MDEA solidified their unspoken place as the controlling force behind everything in Desai.
The above was the plot in the second version of Tides of Fate. The war was a plot spawned by Amanda, in regards to an escaped Nero Angelo, and four dukes of hell attempting to hunt him down. This is also the first time we all got to see her extremely adorable Hitsugaya, aka the wee ninja, aka captain-chan, aka wee-chan, aka Vergil's mini-me.

[edit] Different Dimension, Same History
Yes, the above did happen in Desai University's timeline. Only that it's a little under 31 years later, and the war that once raged is one of the many things that has been CUT out of Desai's public knowledge of history. Older individuals in Desai know it happened, and probably participated in it, but they don't talk about it, and it's not taught in schools, or spoken about in the media. This is a large cover-up conspiracy from MDEA that could end up getting someone visited by the Men in Black for investigating. What are they hiding? Who the hell knows.
[edit] The Conduits in the Present Day
While the original Conduits are long gone, and, even to MDEA, never even existed as Conduits, only the strange visitors that seemed to herald Desai's changes, the Conduits concept WILL come to play a large roll later on in Desai University. I'm just not gunna spoil what I have in mind yet.
