The city walls appeared through the misty haze of the late afternoon.

Robb Stark, King in the North and of the Trident, the Young Wolf, the King who saved the North, rode at the head of his host. 2,000 cavalry, not enough to fight any battles, but there were no battles left to fight. He came to King's Landing victorious already, even though all those fancy titles would not stay with him for long. A grain of sadness resonated in his mood about that - he somehow had liked the whole idea of an independent Kingdom, even though he know it was vanity. A good leader must protect his people and his country, not hunt after glory and renown, he almost heard his late father's voice in his head. Eddard Stark had not only been a great leader, but also a great father, and Robb was thankful for that. Father would not have wanted me to lust after the crown, especially not when the King is Robert's brother, Robb thought. The friendship of Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon had influenced so much, and even though Robb did not expect to ever become friends with Stannis, he had more respect for the man than anyone else in the Seven Kingdoms. He would be a loyal vassal. Family, duty, honor, his mother's house words came into his mind.

He often forgot how lucky he really was to be here. A lot could have gone wrong in this war, but luck had always been on his side. That victory in the Whispering Woods, the capture of Jaime Lannister, his friend Theon's loyalty to warn him about Balon Greyjoy's attack, the bypass of the Golden Tooth, Stafford Lannister's mistakes at Oxcross - and of course, most surprisingly, the great commander Tywin Lannister falling for his trap and trying to relieve the Westerlands, allowing Stannis Baratheon to sack the capital. Between Robb's host and his uncle Edmure's forces from the East, the Lannister host had been smashed, Tywin himself killed and the Mountain that rides captured and swiftly executed.

His friend Theon rode up to him with that odd smile he always had on his face. Mother didn't like it, Robb knew. "So, Queen Cersei", Theon said mischievously.

Robb grinned. "Always just thinking about the spoils of war."

"Isn't that why we all go to war? To capture queens and princesses?"

The Young Wolf smiled. Or to save them, Robb thought, I did this all for my sweet Sansa. He loved his sister more than anything else in the world. When he played Knight as a little boy, she would be his princess, and she had always liked him most. He fondly thought back about the shy kisses in the Godswood, the snow melting on her beautiful auburn hair, her soft white skin... He couldn't wait to see her again. He almost regretted not being the one to take the city and personally free Sansa from her captors.

Robb noticed Theon giving him a weird look. He had zoned out a bit too long. "Aren't you going to have more than enough salt-wives as Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands?", the Northerner asked his companion.

Theon licked his teeth. "Sure. But they're not as pretty as the Queen."

Robb laughed again. He would taste some of that Lannister ass as well - he had no pity for Cersei.

They closed in on the city and were greeted by the shouting Baratheon men on the walls. The direwolf and the fish proudly flattering in the wind, Robb rode through the open gates, his army behind him. They were welcomed by an middle-aged, brown-haired man on a grey horse.

"Lord Stark, I am Lord Davos Seaworth, Hand of King Stannis of House Baratheon, first of his name, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Welcome to King's Landing."

Robb nodded respectfully and allowed the rider to join his ranks beside him.

"His Grace wishes to speak to you as soon as possible, but understands if you wish to meet Lady Sansa first", Seaworth continued. "She has been treated with all respect and will be waiting for you in her chambers."

Robb wanted to make it clear that there would be no insubordination from his part - but he longed to see Sansa as quickly as possible.

What does Robb do?

Go to Sansa

Go to the King
