Vindioyar consists of three islands; Lítla Dimun, Skúvoy and Gøtu. Lítla Dimun and Skúvoy makes the municipality Skálavík, and the largest part of Gøtu makes the municipality with the same name. The rest of Gøtu is a part of Suður-Viðoy in Eysturoyar.

Most of the populations lives in the industry and harbour city of Skálavík (Kalduroyar's second largest city), and in the village of Gøtu, the main settlement at the island with he same name.
