In early 2006, Shawn Kozone who is rather commonly known today as Cam, opened a wrestling site called Wrestlezone 4000 in which did news coverage on professional wrestling companies such as WWE and TNA. Eventually, Cam would become interested in backyard wrestling by the The Frank of BWA, taking view of several videos provided online via YouTube.
Features
Over the years, GBYWN has introduced various features over its two year existence. Ones which include the GBYWN Power 25 (retired), GBYWN Hall of Fame, GBYWN Weekly Awards (retired), GBYWN Monthly Awards (retired) and GBYWN End of the Year Awards. A backyard wrestling simulation game has also been created called GBYWN Backyard Simulation Wrestling along with the GBYWN Game Room utilized to forecast pro wrestling pay-per-view matches.
