Shin becomes an outcast after taking into account that no one wants him to exist in Kasukabe. In order to clear his act, Shin writes apology letters to the neighborhood about his past disasters based on Shin Chan's Book of Apologies. Josh and Katzie finds Shin by reading the clues in his apology letter. Misadventures awaits as Shin spends the weekend such as encountering 100-foot battered bunny. At the end, the entire Kindergarten throws a surpise Welcome Back party for Shin as he gives a speech to everyone that he'll be writing his Book of Forgiveness.

Quotes

  • Shin: Mom's a cotton-headed ninny-muffin.
  • Mitzi: Hiro, Did you hear that?

---

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: Shin, there are 15 students in this class, and you're the only one who has to make terror.

---

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: Those aren't your snacks, Shin.

---

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: You disgust me and the rest of the kindergarten! How can you act like yourself? You sit on a throne of terror. You're a selfish, hopeless, callous heel of a brat. How'd you like to be expelled, huh? Ha, ha, not kidding.
  • Miss Anderson: We don't want to see you again for the rest of our whole life and nobody in the neighborhood want to see you else either!

---

Mitzi: Shin? I'm home!

(Mitzi reads the letter)

Mitzi: Oh my gosh.... No....

---

  • "Josh-chan" Mr. Taylor: (Reading Shin's letter) "I am sorry that I ruined everyone's lives and crammed eleven apology letters in the mailboxes. Love, Shin."

---

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: I believe these letters are clues to where we may find Shin.

---

  • Miss Anderson: Josh, Josh.... Up until Shin came along everything around here has been, well, normal. It seems to me that the first thing we have to do is to forget about Shin and move on with our normal lives.
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: That's not the answer, Miss Anderson. No matter how angry we may get, or how disturbed we may be, we're not gonna solve our problems by throwing Shin out of our lives.
  • Miss "Dori" Anderson: That's just what he wants us to do. Us to go looking for him in his little scavanger hunt so we can all feel guilty about him!
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: You're not at all worried that Shin might get hurt in the suburbs?
  • Miss "Dori" Anderson: Well, if I was you, I'd do nothing about it.

---

  • Mitzi: Please bring Shin back safely! [pause] And if it's at all possible, try to be nice to him.

---

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: I didn't mean to hurt Shin. It's almost like losing a student.
  • "Katzie" Miss Katzie: I always knew you'd say that.

---

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: You don't need to write another apology letter, Shin. It's all forgiven. Now let's go.

---

(at Mr. Taylor's Apartment)

  • Shin: What a selfish, hopeless, callous heel of a brat I've been.
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: Shin, There are some of the hopeless friends I know back in my country. They're more selfish than Pinnochio. Ha-ha. That was a little gag. Very little.
  • "Katzie" Miss Katzie: It's gonna be fine Shin. You're forgiven now.

---

(Shin watches an educational video about Johnny Doughnutseed and sharing)

  • Son on the tv: Dad, Did you have to share your doughnuts when you were a kid like me?
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: (talking on the phone) He was in the alley behind the dumpers, Mrs. Nohara.

Mitzi: Really?

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: True. I was just thinking. Can Shin stay with me and Miss Katzie for the rest of the night?
  • Mitzi: I'll tell you what. Shin can stay with you and Miss Katzie for the weekend.
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: I can't hear you over the loud TV, did I just hear you say about Shin staying over for the weekend?
  • Mitzi: I think he'll be okay from where you're living. Bye!
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: Let me think about this for a minute, Mrs. Nohara.....

(Mitzi hangs up)

---

[Josh's bedtime chant.]

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: Who's the student of our crew? Who's a friend like me and you? Kinda nice, good lookin', too! Shin, Shin, yeah Shin!

---

  • "Katzie" Miss Katzie: [Singing quietly to cheer up Shin] Big boy in a li'l boat! Big boy in a li'l boat!
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: I could just hear you singing so beautiful.

---

(Josh, Katzie, and Shin walking in the park)

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor, "Katzie" Miss Katzie, Shin: [Singing to Rockafire's song "Walkie Talkie"] Two, four, niner, five, six, seven....

---

  • Shin: Look at my reflection in the mirror. I'm a terror of the throne, Josh-chan. Just like out of a story book. I'm a wolf child, Josh-chan. My old life, a worthless callous heel of a brat. You finds out 'till the weekend is over!

---

  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: Thanks for this highly nutritious microwavable ramen and sushi dinner and the people who sold it on sale.
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor, "Katzie" Miss Katzie, Shin: Kampai.

---

  • Shin: I'm a little concerned right now. About you and Miss Katzie. How come you never been married?
  • "Josh-Chan" Mr. Taylor: I don't know why your judging me.

---

  • Shin: It's the Stay-Stuff Battered Bunny.

---

---

(at School)

  • Shin: (To Miss Katzie) Morning Miss Katzie. That's a very nice purple dress. It's very purpley.

---

  • Mitzi: My Shin. I thought I would never see you again.

---
