HB Journal for May 1, 1939
From Brackbillwiki
Up to my old tricks, I jumped back into bed after the alarm rang this morning. I didn't oversleep much, though, but found myself pretty sleepy all morning. I had a nice mess to straighten out. Someone run a load of wheat in the corn bin with some corn in it. (That's what happens when I'm away.)
John took his wife & Jack to Harrisburg to catch a train for California this afternoon. She will visit her daughter a few weeks.
After supper I took Jane and Romain to Lanc. to County Chorus practice. I forced myself to leave Jane with difficulty because of the moonlight.
