HB Journal for Aug 7, 1939

From Brackbillwiki

Get up, sleepyhead, Get to work, Lazybones. The spring fever got me. That's funny.

There was no occasion to hurry to work and no occasion to hurry at work, for, I'm telling you, business is terrible.

We managed to keep busy but surely didn't get our shirts at all wet. The day passed on as they all do and 5 o'clock found me home, locked out, no supper & a big appetite. I braved it alone & got inside, got supper & got the dishes done. Jane was away at a Guild Splash Party & brought Dot home for all night. I had half dozen boys for company.
