House Lannister

From Asoiaf

House Lannister is the wealthiest of the Great Houses. Their wealth is funded on the gold found at Casterly Rock and the Golden Tooth. The Lannisters are fair-haired, tall and handsome. Casterly Rock is their seat. Tywin Lannister is the current Lord of Casterly Rock.

The Lannisters are descendants of Andal adventurers who carved out a mighty kingdom in the western hills and valleys. Through the female line they claim descent from Lann the Clever.

She and Robert then left King's Landing in the middle of the night without a word. Cersei was furious.

In a secret message to Catelyn Lysa said that Jon Arryn was murdered by the queen and the Lannisters.

King Robert decided to travel north with the royal family to see Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell. Ser Jaime Lannister and Tyrion Lannister were among those following the king.

Robert Baratheon, King of the Seven Kingdoms arrived at Winterfell. Queen Cersei, Ser Jaime Lannister and Tyrion Lannister were among the three hundred travelling with him along with Prince Joffrey Baratheon, two other knights of the Kingsguard, and Sandor Clegane. Cersei and her younger children had travelled there in a wheelhouse. They were met at the gates by Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, his wife Lady Catelyn and their children, Robb, Sansa, Arya, Brandon and Rickon. On Robert's request he and Eddard left the others and went down to the crypt.

A feast was held in the Great Hall of Winterfell. The royal family entered the hall in procession, Lord Stark first escorting the queen followed by King Robert and Lady Stark. Then came the children, Rickon, Robb and Myrcella, Arya and Tommen and Sansa and Joffrey. After them came Ser Jaime and Tyrion Lannister. Last came Benjen Stark and Theon Greyjoy. Lord and Lady Stark hosted the king and queen on a raised platform beneath which sat the Stark and royal children.
