Ser Jaime of House Lannister, called the Kingslayer, is the first son and heir to Tywin Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock and Lady Joanna. Queen Cersei is his twin sister. He is a member of the Kingsguard.
His mother died in childbirth.
283 AL He killed Aerys II Targaryen, King of the Seven Kingdoms in the throne room during the Sack of King's Landing.
After the sudden death of the Hand of the King, Jon Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie Robert Baratheon, King of the Seven Kingdoms decided to travel north with the royal family to see Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell. Jaime was among those following the king.
Robert Baratheon, King of the Seven Kingdoms arrived at Winterfell. Jaime was among the three hundred travelling with him along with Queen Cersei, Prince Joffrey Baratheon, Princess Myrcella Baratheon, Prince Tommen Baratheon, two other knights of the Kingsguard, Tyrion Lannister and Sandor Clegane. Cersei and her younger children had travelled there in a wheelhouse. They were met at the gates by Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell, his wife Lady Catelyn and their children, Robb, Sansa, Arya, Brandon and Rickon. On Robert's request he and Eddard left the others and went down to the crypt.
