The Eyrie is the seat of House Arryn. Robert Arryn is the current Lord of the Eyrie.
The childless Jon Arryn, Lord of the Eyrie received Eddard Stark and Robert Baratheon as his wards.
After the death of Jon Arryn, now Hand of the King, his wife Lysa and son Robert returned to the Eyrie.
Lysa Arryn sent a message to her sister Catelyn written in a secret language they had made when they were little. In the message she says that Jon Arryn was murdered by the queen and the Lannisters. The message was delivered to Winterfell beneath a false bottom in a box containing a lens of Myr.
