Demons are the denizens of Hell. They vastly outnumber the Angels in the BOA universe. More demons are created everyday as dark-hearted humans die and change into demons as they change planes from Etrah to Hell. Demons are almost always malevolent in nature, and seek any opportunity to escape Hell. However, those who do escape only seem to bring the evil with them, causing unrest and damage in the world they escape to. Unlike angels, all demons do not have wings; only high-level demons have a pair of bat-like wings on their backs. Once a demon finds the power to grow wings, they are largely ornamental; at that point, the wings themselves are of little aid in flight.
