This weapon is based on the real-life P90. The TimeSplitters 2 rendition is renowned for having a closer resemblance to the actual P90 than in other games. The SBP90 has a magazine size of 64 rounds, and it spits them out with a very high rate of fire with minimal recoil. It has a long range scope, which is unique because, unlike the scopes on the sniper rifles, it doesn't give the player a view from the scope. Instead, when the scope is zoomed in, the player's view point is moved closer to and then past the gun, focusing on the crosshairs, with the screen becoming more blue-tinted and full of static as you zoom in further, simulating the effects of an electronic scope.

Like most high-fire weapons in TimeSplitters 2, it can be dual-wielded. It is the second fast firing weapons in TS2, better fire rate than the tommy gun. It also carry twice the ammo of the tommy gun.
