Chapter Four

Legend of the Infinite Empire 4:

The plane shook violently; apparently the aliens had ships of their own . Their blasters were tearing the ship apart. The poorly armored plane rocked back and forth. The plane was built for speed, to go in and out of hot zones. Finally the ship exploded, Omega Squad fell from the plane, their parachutes opened. YoshiFan was falling fast, too fast. YoshiFan hit the ground hard, a shockwave of pain spread through his body. He kept his silence, hiding the pain. YY landed safely, and PY landed safely as well. YoshiFan cocked his rifle and turned to his troops. “We are behind enemy lines; we just go to hope to heck that we get rescued. First I suggest retake the Poshley Heights Communication Station. Then we send an urgent message to the ‘Shroom Army…Then we hold out this comm station is extremely vital to nearly all communications in this area.” YoshiFan took a deep breath. His troops nodded in acknowledgement. YoshiFan smiled, “Let’s go.”

3d and Beanbean or other whys know as BB were shocked, the alien asked them to help him find the Hero of Light. They soon came to realize it was not a hoax. They followed the alien creature ‘Gofer’ through the trial. He turned and smiled. We are here. A saucer shaped ship, and its cockpit opened up. The three packed in and ship lifted toward the sky.

The “Forces of Light” we tossed out of the fortress after being defeated by their shadow forms. Plumber was holding himself responsible for Mario97’s death. 97 had never been tossed out, the squad assumed his death. After the landed outside, the found his hat, all that seemed left of the heroic plumber. Isyou had also taken some responsibility for 97’s death, it was he who commanded Mario97 to go on and face the Prince of Shadow. But they had to ask themselves why? Why had the Prince of Shadows let them live, did he not consider them a threat? Or did the Lord of Darkness have something else planned? Plumber had no choice but to rally his troops and head out to find the Sysops. The rain trickled down; each drop that fell, Plumber felt a hammer smashing a nail into his chest. Mario97 had been liked by all, and hated by none. His legacy would live on, in the hearts of many. Plumber looked to the sky and frowned, Mario97 was lost forever.

Omega Squad had waited till the sky darkened, till the sunset to launch their attack on the Poshley Heights Communication station or otherwise known as the PHCS. The sky dimmed to the color of a little red, along with a variety of different colors as the sunset. The sky then dimmed to pitch black. Parayoshi had done some scouting and realized that no aliens had been in the facility, only Shady Koopas. YoshiFan held his arm high and motioned to the right, YellowYoshi398 ran to were YoshiFan had pointed. YoshiFan then motioned left, PY ran left. YY was armed with his signature shotgun slung around his back, and his machinegun in his arms. While Parayoshi was armed with sniper rifle around his back and the machinegun in his arms, PY was an expert sniper. While YoshiFan was armed with his machinegun and two quad pistols hidden beneath his utility belt, he signaled the attack had begun. YY tossed a flash grenade at the front of the building; two Shady Koopas appeared out of the PHCS. The two Koopas were gunned done immediately. Three more Shady Koopas appeared armed with machineguns; they too were gunned down easily. The three marched in, they were silent assassins. Two Shady Koopas patrolled the halls, YoshiFan shot them down. Two Koopatrol heard the blaster fire and rushed toward the two injured Koopas. YoshiFan blasted at one Koopatrol putting the Koopa in a world of pain. YY398 pulled out his shotgun and blasted a spray of bullets in the armored leg of the Koopatrol; The Koopa fell to the ground. Omega Squad advanced, moving silently through the base.

They came to a small Tec room no bigger than the size of a regular persons’ living room. The room was as dark as the midnight sky. They could only see one thing. In the center floated an alien creature like the ones they encountered earlier but…more…more real. The alien’s skin was a tone darker; he didn’t have the steel armor the others had. The alien spoke, with a tone of authority. His words were, “Lay down your weapons or die”
YoshiFan gave a hint of a smile, “And why sir…would we do that?”
The room’s light came to life, they found themselves surrounded by the alien-like creatures but they too were…more real. YoshiFan nodded to his squad, they dropped their weapons. YY398 parted with his beloved shotgun, PY dropped his sniper rifle. And YoshiFan dropped his pistol. On the ground lay weapons powerful enough to…well do a lot of things. YoshiFan scanned the room, in the right corner of the room there were Shady Koopas hauling Grenade Boxes into the room. In the far right was a very dark looking alien life form, he was a tad larger than normal aliens, YoshiFan assumed him to be a general or commander. The alien that hovered in the center disappeared but reappeared in front of YoshiFan, apparently the aliens could teleport, YoshiFan wondered what else powers they had. The alien spoke again, “I am the leader of this force sent to capture this pathetic town…We are the Mars People! And why have you come here?”
YoshiFan tilted his head, “I was given orders”
The alien smiled, “by whom?"
YoshiFan would rather die than surrender the name and location of his leader. He smiled and answered back, “Your mama”
The alien was outraged he pulled a pistol and held it with his right tentacle, he faced the pistol at YoshiFan’s head, “who gave you the order!?” he asked. YoshiFan smiled, he intentionally dropped to the ground, he unsheathed his second pistol, he opened fire on one of the grenade boxes the Koopa had been carrying. The room lit up, YoshiFan’s vision was blurred but not badly. He turned to his left and shot the supposed Alien General square in the forehead. He swooped around hit the Alien leader in the right tentacle, he dropped his pistol. The alien teleported, behind him…but a vast number of bullets penetrated the alien’s skin. YY398 had apparently not been blinded that much either, as evidence he had just blasted the Alien Leader. OY too had not been fazed; He opened fire on a Mars People solider to the right. The rest of Mars People had been taken out by the explosion, also a large hole in the wall, a small side effect of the explosion. YoshiFan looked out the hole in the wall, and turned to his troops. “Guys we got thousands of bogeys headed this way, Get that comm system up and send a message to Wayoshi.” Commanded YoshiFan
PY nodded and got to work on the comm message. The message had been sent, now all there was to do was defened the base…

…On the other side of the distress signal stood Wayoshi, his arms folded, “Get me General Porplemontage!” he commanded his comm trooper. The trooper opened up a comm message, the blue holovideo came to life The Supreme Overlord of the ‘Shroom Army, Porplemontage. Their leader was big and buff, his smiled, his teeth were as shiny as pearls. “What is it General Wayoshi?” Porplemontage asked.
Wayoshi frowned, “Admiral it appears that Commander YoshiFan and his troops are stranded behind enemy lines. They’re doomed. Unless we intervene.”
Porple nodded, “General I’ll send Commander Gooper Blooper on it.”
“No” said Wayoshi, he continued, “I called to receive permission…Admiral I’m getting my troops out.”

3d, BB, and the Mars Person, Gofer were traveling in the cramped UFO, The three exchanged a little chatter but nothing major. Gofer explained a lot over the course of the flight, he told them about his people and their leader. He told them tales of heroism, and tales of sadness. But they finally reached their destination.

“Hurry!” SPL’s voice rang; Plumber hurried up the hill, and saw it. A large disc shaped ship landed. The Forces of Light watched as out of the shuttle appeared two people and one unknown life form. Max2 recognized one of them, as did the trio of plumbers.Max2 headed down the hill, he cried, “3d” over and over again. Plumber frowned, “Beanbean” he didn’t sound too happy. Beanbean had been one of his former employees until he quit. Gofer came to Plumber, “Where is the 97 of Mario?”
Plumber frowned and handed Gofer Mario97’s hat.
Gofer frowned, “A hero is lost today”

Mario97 awoke, his body aching, he looked across the room, a large buff warrior stood across. The warrior spoke, “So you have awaken, I am Sir Grodus, Sysop of Strength and Reviving. You my friend died…by with your two gloves, and a quite smelly shoe. I revived you.”
Mario97 rubbed his head, his hat was gone. “Where’s my hat?” Grodus shrugged, “I do not know”, Grdous looked around and continued, “I must defeat Fire Fang, and he is a threat.”
Mario97 shook his head, “no Grodus I have a score to settle with this beast.”
Grodus frowned, “Do not let vengeance cloud your judgment”
Mario97 shook his head, “Anger and vengeance has nothing to do with this!”
Grodus smiled, “I can help you.”
Mario97 nodded, “Then let’s do this”

Wayoshi had gather a massive force, over sixteen squadrons of fighters, Three Thousand Soldiers, And Himself a Sysop. The force was almost to the PHCS where they had received the distress signal. Wayoshi worried for the lives of his troops…good hard working commandos. The Airship was making great progress. The sun was setting and Wayoshi hoped it was not the last his commandos saw the sun. He shook the thoughts from his head.

Mario97 scaled the tower, trying to avoid unnecessary confrontations. He finally reached the top. The rain was pouring down, light flashed, and the loud sound of thunder. Mario97 could hear it all, he smiled at the thought he was living for the second time. The door slid open. The black creature became a flaming fire demon and shouted, “So we met again foolish mortal!”
Mario97 smiled, “Yes, fire Fang and this I will win!”

YoshiFan opened fire, a cluster of Shady Koopas and Mars People. YoshiFan hit two Shady Koopas sending crying to their mommy. But they wouldn’t holdout much longer if reinforcements didn’t arrive…

Around the campfire the forces of Light got to know the trio of new comers. Plumber realized that Gofer had a dark, dark sense of humor…that he did not like. But then a black dragon swooped down a swept Plumber of his feet. The dragon landed, he sprayed fire from his mouth. Plumber dodged the fire. The large number of heroes leaped in the air and attacked the dragon…

Will our heroes defeat the shadowy creature?

Will Mario97 defeat Fire Fang?

Will Omega Squad survive?

So many questions so little time…
